Quick question for fellow editors out there. Why do you use GIMP/Firealpaca? I've noticed that a lot of people don't use Photoshop? Is it because you don't want to pay the money for CC or is there another reason?

Actually, I just have a low end pc that doesn't work well with photoshop, as well as I feel if I were to get it in the future it would have such a learning curve compared to what I use (FireAlapca), I have been using alpaca for a long time now, have everything memorized, a large collection of brushes. Of course as everyone says, it doesn't matter what you use, if you're proficient at something you will do good. Though money is another reason, FireAlpaca is free, and I am 100% sure I could do anything that someone did on photoshop on FireAlpaca.

There are loads of options.
Sai is a personal favourite due to complex layer clips and a sane blur tool.
Photoshop is king for effects and painting.
Clip can do a whole lot and is also a popular option.
Tools like gimp can get the job done but are normally targeted as being a free lining tool.

If you're referring to the strange choice of colours, then that's because of the half-tones. They tend to drown out your colours so you have to go a bit more extreme in terms of lights and shadows.
If you're referring to the stomach area, then that's because of the abdomen. It stick out a bit so I added shading and lighting to show that. The extra bit of light near the bottom-right of it is there because on skinnier women, their pelvis would kinda bulge out so I tried to add that detail in.

When it comes to colouring, it usually takes me around 2-3 hours on simpler ones. On more complicated ones with multiple panels and backgrounds, I'd say it takes me around 5-6 hours.
