I just hope the TA:0 reboot will be good.
The Murasaki redesign looks promising enough.

The VNs have never really disappointed, but TA3 set the bar ridiculously high and TABA has been tame as fuck so far(probably to appease as many potential players as possible, but still).

I've long since lost any hope for a decent adaptation of the VNs, anime or live action. That time has past.

I honestly don't understand why the mainline Taimanin Asagi games fall under Anime Lilith, while Taimanin Yukikaze falls under Black Lilith.

The TY games, especially TY2, feel very tame compared to the TA games, while I thought Black Lilith games were supposed to be the darker games made by Lilith-Soft. Taimanin Kurenai even made "a Taimanin game dark enough for Black Lilith" part of its marketing, if I remember correctly.

That said, TA:0 is going to be another Anime Lilith production, so I hope that means nothing and they're willing to make the game as brutal/dark as they can.
It feels like it's been forever since we had that.

Sakura looks like Sakura.
I'm not crazy about the Snake Lady redesign, but it works for the Chaos arena. I'm assuming Murasaki's masked outfit is also for the Arena, or maybe she's some sort of vigilante in this universe.
Asagi looks to be pretty young, which I still need to get used to, but is a refreshing change after the older Asagi of 3 and TABA.

Now, if they don't fuck up Oboro's redesign I'm totally on board.

What's this about redesigns? All the zero characters shown so far have their original designs, save for snake lady who is wearing a mask this time around. That prostitute outfit for murasaki is just that, and outfit, and it's not going to appear in zero. Those are just promotional scenes for TABA and tgey5have no bearing on the real game.

TA3 had some scenes in which it worked wonderfully. Humiliation, and all that.
Besides that, I bet you've had movies/shows/games in which antagonists died and you appreciated their deaths. It's all about how you view a character.
Another justification still is that a killing could be considered a mercy, compared to a life as a sex-slave.
I respect that you wouldn't like it, but it is a big part of this series and thys a silly thing to complain about.

Because the prostitute version of her Zero promotional art is only used for the TABA card. The kids that appear in the scene are from Towoko's game, which isn't connected to the TA universe in any way. If you had played the games you would have known this and how big of a giveaway that is to the card's canonicity. It was nothing more than crossover promotion for zero. They have done this kind of thing many times for other lilith games with TABA. They even made a card where the elf girl from their recent elf game is wearing a taimanin outfit. The murasaki image that appears on T0's website is the schoolgirl musaraki image, nothing more, nothing less. Sasalilith already said that the gyaru sakura and prostitutede murasaki weren't going to appear in zero to begin with.

I feel like this has been my biggest issue with Asagi under ZiZ.


There is so much material and characters already at their disposal but they keep consistently choosing the "safe" route with their episodes. Or if we do get a 'bad end' scene, it feels tacked on and rushed.

I'd argue it's visually darker, as well.
We don't see the birthing, sure, but we do get Asagi pleading and crying to Black for death while Sakura and Murasaki humiliate and hurt her. Only to be denied her merciful death.
Plus, we get to see how that event has completely broken her afterwards, as she's betrayed all of her students and has become nothing more than a broken toy.

While we do briefly see blood in the beheading scene, it's done very quickly at the end of the scene.
We see nothing else, the girls don't see it coming and it feels more like a mercy than anything else. Above all else it feels like a far tamer death than other ones in the series (Sakura in TA2, Asagi's deaths in TA3).

To each their own, of course.
I just interpreted the pregnant Asagi scene to be darker, is all. That said, I did absolutely love the Murasaki and Sakura torture scenes.

I feel this is the problem with every TA scene under ZiZ.
The scenes are short, poorly animated, slow and feel weak/tame compared to how they were presented in the VN.
Say of Murakami what you want, I fully understand the dislike for the shaky-cam and how his artstyle looks very different from the VNs, but at least he dared to be brutal.
He didn't just quickly adapt scenes from the VN, he set up new scenarios which mostly fit the setting very well.
The current TA adaptations miss everything that made it so interesting/beloved to many fans in the first place.

If you can read moonrunes, Taimanin Kurenai is brutal and awesome.

Depending on your choices, her experience with it changes.

Go for fun/bad endings, and she'll learn to love it.
Go for canon/good routes, and she'll be ashamed of it, until she gets it reversed/fixed.

Regardless of choice, at the start of TA2 there are a few comments/thoughts from Asagi, about how Sakura still can't really handle the still present body modification from TA1 quite like Asagi can.
At the start of TA3 she's cured of it, but has her body altered again during torture. Here she pleads for anything but the body-altering-drugs, signifying her absolute fear for it.
In her corrupted/demon form she loves her new (futa) body.

Where should I start with Taimanin?

I agree with you that the begging for death scene was darker thematically but the blood in the torture sequence was a stronger turn off. I could've sworn that in TA1, 2, and 3, and Taminanin Murasaki, Sakura repeatedly talks about wanting to be as "bouncy" as her sister when she grows up (in TA1, doesn't Asagi note that she's almost 30, which would put a ~12 year difference between her and Sakura--who's still in highschool). In any case, there's a strong implication that Asagi's bustier even before TA2's bust modification--which is mostly corrected in the "canonical" ending?

By TA3's plot, Sakura (and Asagi, etc.) seem ~5 years older than in TA1....and to Lilith's credit, Sakura looks older too. Murasaki seems to fixate on Sakura being bigger too, but Asagi's gone full Ms. Robinson, with some of TA2's modification being left. I could see Asagi being 90 cm in TA1, but Sakura would still be visibly smaller (her sprites suggest as much), and by the time Sakura reaches 93, it looks like Asagi would've broken 100....

Then you take Oboro, who in all of her sprite work across looks significantly smaller than Asagi--and seems aggrevated by as much (her TA2 clone certainly fixates on that fact). Actually Oboro, on the other hand, does look pretty huge, larger than pre-modification Asagi.

The numbers feel like guesswork. I don't suppose there was ever any atribution to them?

(On the other hand, if they're the TA:0 numbers--Sakura being bigger than Asagi would be believable, and there's only a year or two between them now.)
