I got AA2, played it like 2 times in past 6 months. Thing is It's on my old windows XP drive in my sweet gaming rig. so i don't like using it. did a registry hack to make it run but ehh. i wanna wipe it and re-install again. Last time I played AA2 was when it was just recently released
How long does it take to setup the game into working condition and how much actual modding do I need to make the game fully functional and actually have content to skim through?
I remember it being incredible pain in the ass just to get the game running and each patch would break something and it would take another lifetime to make it work again.
I want to get back to it but if it's longer process than 30 minutes ( not counting in download times ) then forget it.
So please enlighten me.

just search "artificial academy 2 tpb" and find the one that says no install English
it's the easiest shit if you read the comments which are really helpful. just make sure you install the dlc pack BEFORE the HF pack
also depending on if you're using w10 now you will need to use a batch file to run the game using applocale and there's also a replacement d3d9 .dll if you search artificial academy 2 windows 10 lag
imo it's all really simple if you're tech savvy enough and took me less than an hour

I think it comes down to style, some prefer the more anime'ish style in AA2 While others like the realistic HS style. +the studio in HS pretty much let's you do anything.

I have tried putting d3d9.dll in pretty much every folder there is, yet my game is still lagging on w10.
There is originally no d3d9.dll in the AA2Play folder, the only d3d9.dll in the entire file structure is in the AA2Maker folder.

Except the conversations are literally randomized 80% of the time. Sure the game has more gameplay content then HS but it is by no means close to feeling like a real world after the first hour. The entire system is shallow and repetitive. It's like telltale levels of your choices matter, except the illusion is worse and it only fools some people because they're thinking with their dick and want to fuck their waifu. I am by no means defending HS or trying to say tgey are equally shallow but AA2 is by no means that far ahead.

Until I discovered that you can save scenes other people made into the Studio. That gives you an awesome starting point.
From that you'll start sorting shit out on your own, it's plenty user intuitive.
You can use the existing animations and pose them differently while they retain some of their movement (in most of the cases, breast/hip movement). So this is a glorious game of Lego with things resembling human beings where you can do whatever the hell you damn please and you can cram quite a bit of characters in a single scene to boot, either having a girl getting ganged by many partners or different moments of sex within the same scenes.
Seriously. It's like having a turbo version of AAU's poser where you can place characters at will much more easily and you can just go do whatever you want.

Random interruption - enable "Disable NPC -> PC action" and "Disable NPC -> PC interruption" in the "Additional Functions 2" option menu.

Waifu stops the action - use reiedit to lower her virtue, and if you feel like it also give her the "Lewd" trait. And some other traits that you are into.

I found that it is possible to make much better looking characters in AA2 editor. The original AA editor is very limited in comparison, so while with minimal effort your character will look better in AA, you can eventually make a much better looking one in AA2.

No. It's inferiour in every way except perhaps one. The sex system in AA is better in my opinion. AA2 is unusual for Illusion in the sense that it's a strict upgrade over AA in most ways. The games are very similar overall.

For an H game, it is pretty good and it even has an AI. The type of game isn't known as being the standard bearer of good gameplay, so it doesn't have live up to actual games to be somewhat impressive.
