How much does an average hentai artist earn? Not counting the

i think I read somewhere that it's fairly normal for doujin artists to have a day job to be able to sustain themselves.

Though, patreon and enty are becoming increasingly popular, so who knows.

Shit pay. Manga artists live a grueling life with the attitude " at least my passion is spreading joy" I imagine hentai artists are the same if not worse(excluding big companies that pump out VN)

Anon in other thread said that artists like shindol who are obviously doing it full time can afford hiring helpers and shindol's tanks and doujins barely even break monthly top 100s on melonbooks, amazon and toranoana. TSF 4.0 did not even appear anywhere near those lists.
I can only imagine that people who sell better and/or make everything on their own are doing just dandy money-wise

Take about half the minimum wage. Since for every "successful" hentai artist, there's about 99 failures, you can then divide that income by 100 to get the "average".

But seriously though: by all accounts I've heard on the matter, if you're interested in drawing any kind of manga as a career (hentai or otherwise) you'll either have to be one or more of the following:
1) As talented as Osamu Tezuka.
2) As market savvy as Kishimoto
3) As good a storyteller & frankly as lucky as ONE.

Failing all of that, you're better off doing it as a hobby and taking the odd commission.
