imo a lot of the plot points seem very contrived

i really don't see the father raping the daughter getting pinned all on the daughter, especially if the daughter up until that point had been pretty well-behaved. i realize the descent started a few issues earlier, but c'mon, they seemed like a reasonably well-developed family in the beginning and that really shouldn't fall apart that quickly

that and during the last issue when they start beating for being homeless, i don't buy that at all

people by and large are extremely apathetic about the homeless, not curious or investigative, and certainly not confrontational, let alone to the point of physical violence

i mean seriously, you give the homeless a wide berth in most cities, especially if they smelled bad

and i certainly don't think anybody would even consider ever attacking a pregnant women let alone a homeless desperate one. reverence for the image of mother and child is pretty deeply ingrained in most people's psychology and to sully that is an obvious place where the book just feels like it's lost touch with reality (despite desperately trying to convince you that it's "real" and "gritty" and "this is how things are")

drug addiction, homelessness, and the failure of society to care for mothers is a problem, but short of that being symbolized by that beating she recieves in the locker room I just don't think it works

anyway it's pretty feelsy at the end and i remember the first issue being kind of hot so you know, whatever

The second episode of RIN x SEN + Ran->Sem Cross Mix. And that's why almost everyone disliked it despite it having the great art and animation.
