HV is mostly a credit sink. You get a small sum of credits as you clear arenas the first time, but only the level 220+ arenas are decent for money (~10k per day at lvl 220, ~33k at 250, ~73k at 300). The obvious problem there is getting to that level and running through it every day. Monster lab can pay off in the long term, but that's even more problematic with the high startup cost and slow return.

Most of equipment drops you get will be trash that people won't even take for free. Speaking of which, use the forums for good cheap gear. Artifacts are a nice boost, but they're pretty rare. If you missed posting in the yule tide lottery thread a month ago, then you missed out on 1 free hath every day.

Basically, don't do hentaiverse if you're looking for credits. You're probably better off or finding a workaround if you don't enjoy HV itself. You could also upload galleries, but you'd need like 4.5m gallery points to get 200 hath.

Go to your about:config and search "security.mixed_content.send_hsts_priming" without the quotes and set it to false. You can either do that or downgrade to the previous version either way Firefox 51.0.1 is not recommended to be on, if you haven't updated that is.

Proficiency isn't that huge of a deal. I changed from light armor+2h to heavy armor+1h in the mid 200's, and even with 0 proficiency on my new set I was doing alright. If you can't beat those arenas then there's something else going on.

Make sure you're using protection, draughts, etc. Your equipment could also be a problem if you're just using whatever bullshit "leather of dampening" or "shortsword of the illithid" you came across while playing. I used a mace before switching because the domino strikes plus the stun effect really helps you manage the crowd. The best setup in the game seems to be power armor+rapier+force shield, but early on you can't get great block+parry stats and you won't counter as much (which is important). Try to buy good things on the forums instead of the pawn shop of a bazaar.

The Dovahkin rank fucking scares me. At where I am at level 177 I can only just barely clear new arena challenges on normal by useing all my shit. I can also only fight one or two IWBTH eniemies at a time and that requires me useing half my shit. Since eneimies scale with your level I also don't see it getting any easier either. Shit seems completely impossible to me.

Do you mean potions/draughts/etc? You get infinite of those, just a limited number of slots which each have their own cooldown.
You can put mana potions, mana draughts, and mana elixers each in their own slot, and just use whichever is off cooldown when you need to.
Keep spirit shield and haste up at all times. Probably regen too.
Once you get to higher levels, the scaling will be such that it gets easier for you.

It really does get better as you transition into rapier+shield and get spirit shield upgrades. There's a painful transition period where enemies get much harder while spirit shield is still pretty shitty. Shadow veil can kind of help patch things up before spirit shield gets good.

I know in my 100's I mostly used Hell difficulty since it was pretty easy and nintendo sometimes put me into dire situations (IWBTH for randoms). With the item change a while back here >>4528691 , you should be able to handle something around there. It's worse for trying to cheese through random encounters, but far better for the long arenas.

A level 200 spell that caps single hits to some % of your max hp in exchange for some spirit points whenever it takes effect. It starts capping hits to 45% of your hp which is rarely useful if you're getting stacked anyway, but maxing the upgrades for it out at 285 caps hits to 20% of your hp.

You can still take a lot of damage from monsters, but it's not the horrible "killed from full hp"-fest that higher difficulties can be before getting it.

You could convert it to ~66 hath, which is enough for Innate Arcana 1 if you play hentaiverse (+81k credits if you don't convert all of it to hath). Otherwise the "More Thumbs" perk is pretty sweet for skimming through larger galleries. GP is pretty nice for easily downloading older galleries with dead torrents too. You could use an extension for that, but it's more convenient to just use the internal downloader if you have loads of GP anyway.

Generally you're going to be looking to end up in power armor of slaughter. That's expensive as shit and rarely available at lower levels (sub-300) though because everyone wants it, so power of protection/warding(?) are often used as stepping stones. I got lucky and caught some guy on the forums right as he was dumping a bunch of unassigned equipment, so I was able to get a nice set of exquisite power of slaughter.

Leather (if you're already using it) and plate (especially shielding plate) armor can hold you over too. As a bonus, they're more defensive which can help the transition since your block/parry rates will still be kind of low without forging and just due to level scaling in general. Shielding plate is hard to get a hold of though and you get diminishing returns for each new piece, so don't aim too hard for it.

Remember to look for primary attribute bonuses (PABs) on your equipment. Top priorities are strength and dexterity, then endurance >= agility.

go to "My Home" on e-h, then show your torrents and click each torrent

That said you don't get GP for seeding your torrents, you get GP for completions. So as long as there are other good seeds, you don't need to do it yourself. Although if those other seeds are so slow or unreliable that people stop the torrent and download the gallery, seeding would've helped.

Welcome to your first taste of editing. It'll get even worse once you run into text right on top of pictures. There are basically no tools better than gimp/photoshop for the job (photoshop being the better of the two, obviously).

Seeing how they're pretty much the same resolution (give or take a few pixels), you can do it a kind of quick and dirty way. Just open the less censored version in a layer on top of the translated version, erase the bubbles to reveal the English text (moving things around as needed), and maybe play with the levels/hue/whatever settings on the english layer to help blend it in if you want. At the very least, this should be quicker than copying and pasting everything.

Not as good as just cleaning and typesetting it again--especially because they sometimes go past the bubble and such--but that takes a long time if you're trying to match the original style.

I tried to write something to do that, but I eventually just gave up. The idea was to take the difference between the raw magazine and english magazine, and then apply that to the raw tank.
But everything was different resolutions, and not even the same angle/cropping. I couldn't figure out how to fix that.

Allright I've been playing around with it a bit in gimp. Seems like the best way to do this is loading the pages in 2 layers and using the free select tool to get all the uncensored parts in one go and copying them over to the translated version then move it around a few pixels.
Only problem is that if there is an big angle in the scan I would have to do each censored part seperately because the offset is not even on each part which you can see in the image if you look closely. But if it's not too noticable I can't be bothered.
If I copy the text balloons instead you will notice a difference with the pages that have no censored parts since they are a bit brighter. Takes like 3-4 minutes per page so that is pretty manageable and looks pretty good too so I guess I'll work on it when I have some free time.

Tank illustrations, colored or not, i do no convert, i also make a copy of them to put on hydrus so they can gather dust alongside other images

For normal pages, i usually lower them to 70q quality instead of resizing them if possible (lowering the quality brings no noticeable difference, but resizing makes the page look a bit blurry)

You'll have to use a combination of exhentai, cafe, and nyaa. Might be a few scattered elsewhere. I thought about trying to do what you suggested, but I'm not sure it's worthwhile since a lot of the releases are even lower quality than the source, which is pretty bad.

Basically, you want to call the moveTranslation function. You need to pass it filenames for the magazine scan, english translated magazine, tank scan, and the output file.
In a python shell, import the file (or just run it), then do `moveTranslation("magazine001.png", "english001.png", "tank001.png", "output001.png")`
It leaks memory, so you'll want to either restart the shell every once in a while, or just run each call in a separate process.
There are some optional parameters you can try changing if it isn't working well, see comments in the code.
Depending on your settings, and on the size of the images, it will probably take a couple minutes per image. It took a total of 5.5 hours to do the tank in >>4539113

The basic idea of how it works is: compare the magazine and english images, take all the parts that are different in the english, and stick those on top of the tank image.

Long filenames have bit me in the ass before. Managed to get some "undeletable" file with that, explorer couldn't handle it so I had to use the command line with some short filename that's apparently there. I've since decided to just put my porn folder as close to the root as possible, with as few as possible subdirectories as possible.

I have my whole doujinshi collection organized in window folders but having endless lists does make finding that certain artist a chore.
I was contemplating using a management tool which enables thumbnail views and a better search function than what windows offers.
What do you guys do? HappyPanda crashes after I scanned my collection so that's a no go. I guess I need something heavier than can handle more than thousand folders.

Anybody know how I can efficiently manually tag a large gallery (that doesn't have any tags yet) in Hydrus? It's a bit painful to have to right click each image, set the tags, then hit apply and close the window, before i can go to the next one.

It doesn't even really have a niche. You'll definitely be playing on IWBTH+ for your normal arenas by the time you can get dovahkiin, and orbital cannon completely outshines fus ro dah there. Schoolgirl arenas (last 3) are generally done at low difficulty because they're boring damage sponges, which is also why they're bad for both fus ro dah AND orbital cannon in the first place. Regardless of difficulty, you generally want to focus all your attacks on the schoolgirls and keep the normal monsters alive as long as possible so you can keep getting overcharge from counter hits (which they'll mostly die from anyway).

Rapier+Shield are just ok early on. Level scaling, not having access to good gear, not having funds to upgrade block/parry, and not having the stats to max out overwhelming strikes/counter really make it "meh". You can make it work, but it's probably faster to use a different style. You'll miss out on proficiency by the time 1h is worth using, but it's not that big of a deal.

I went with a mace (2h) and leather until my early-mid 200's. Mace kills things quick with domino strikes and the stun keeps you alive. I can't really tell you if leather is better than plate, but I remember having a hard time switching over for some reason so I just stuck with leather until jumping to power. Leather has noticeably higher resist, but if plate works for you then whatever. You -might- have to go down a difficulty level, but the speed makes up for it imo. Many people do just use 1h the whole way though.

If you can handle hell/nintendo difficulty, you should look into soulbinding a good weapon that will last (i.e. exquisite+) and grinding it to item world 10. It doesn't really matter what bonuses you get from level 1-9, but getting void strike and damage type from level 10 is a big boost. It takes quite a while though, so it's only worth it for weapons you plan to use for a long time. That's basically assumed if you're soulbinding it though so it all works out. Armor doesn't get that same kind of boost at level 10 though so you can ignore it.

First off, never bind average equipment. All average equipment starts without an assigned level, so you can just buy a new one for cheap from the bazaar when you feel you're too far above it. Superior isn't worth soulbinding either because it has the same soul fragment cost as exquisite. Exquisites are good enough for long term use since they're cheap on the forums and magnificent is a big leap in price. My gear is all exquisite except for a magnificent rapier I got as a drop. I used a level 10 exquisite rapier before that. My armor is even pre-update (i.e. inferior), so don't worry too much about it.

Secondly, don't be afraid of the forums. Everything is far cheaper on the forums, and you can get gear that's actually worth soulbinding there. Plus there are "freebie" threads that target new players, so don't be afraid to take advantage. Aside from the shops with free potions, there's also the 1-item-per-week freeshop that has very good gear for new players (e.g. two lvl.35 exquisite rapiers of slaughter are listed atm; read the rules) and erii's corner where you can get a set of average power/shade if you want it.

Third, try to get primary attribute bonuses (PABs) on your equipment. They're easy to ignore, but they're the main thing you should be looking at when deciding between two similarly named pieces of equipment. Take my stats for example, the grey numbers are my PABs; my strength and dexterity are nearly doubled simply because I have PABs on my gear. Aim for strength as a minimum, with strength+dexterity being ideal.

Intelligence is just there for spirit points if you're a melee class. I dropped it to 0 and didn't really miss it, but early on you should keep it if you're running out of spirit points.

Also consider buying voidseeker shards and enchanting your weapon with them. These give you an hour of void damage type and a flat +50% accuracy. They seem to be ~200c on the forums which is pretty cheap considering how long they last, and I'm sure there's a shop or two giving out free ones for low levels. You don't get void strike with it, but it should make things easier if your attacks ever miss. Seems like you might be past that phase though with 98.5% accuracy. Elemental enchantments are a decent damage bump, but they're more costly. You can ignore the other enchantments.

I forgot about it, but low level gear can be hard to get a hold of on the forums outside of freeshop. You might get lucky with someone dumping unassigned gear, but you'll probably be stuck in ragtag armor hell like I was. I remember using whatever leather I could get a hold of before someone dumped a really good unassigned set when I was ~170. Just visit freeshop each week so you can scrape together a good set if you're having problems.

The only way aside from just asking is looking the image up in the archive and hoping somebody else already gave source. Generally the earlier posts have a higher chance of the OP giving source, because he's the one that cropped it probably.

Whenever I end up in cropped image hell, it normally just takes a bit of thinking and a little google-fu.
I look at the characters first and search anything particularly notable about them. So if I see cat ears, I'll search for a catgirl tag. Then I'll also look at what's happening. If there's nakadashi, search that, if there's rape, search that, and so on until you filter out a great deal of stuff. Then, when I don't have much variety, I look at the style of the picture, and try to compare it to the style of whatever is left. If after that I still can't find the source, I'll ask for a source, but it's important to state what artist you think it might have been, saying something along the lines of "I think the artist might be X, but I can't find the source. Can you help me out?"
If you don't at least guess who the artist is, anyone who knows the source will probably dismiss you as some saucefag who never tried anything to search for the image.

In short:
Any prefix > No prefix
Slaughter > Protection >= Warding >= Else

Prefixes are generally a bonus that you'll want to look out for, but aren't really necessary. Just having one is a step up, but you shouldn't be too picky with it. Most prefixes will just be for elemental resists anyway.

For melee suffixes, you're generally looking for protection or warding. The other suffixes buff the specific piercing/crush/slash mitigations which isn't that great when you can just have protection boost your overall physical mitigation. Power of slaughter is good if you can handle the increased damage, but the usual recommendation is to go for power of protection first. Either way, you're going to have trouble getting any decent power equipment in the first place at lower levels so you might want to just take whatever.

Two noteworthy prefixes to look out for are savage (power/shade) and shielding (plate). Savage adds to your critical stats so it's clearly better if you can get it, but too rare to be picky about. Shielding adds to your block chance which is nice, but the way stats work in this game make it less impressive than it seems at first. TL;DR is that for things like evade/parry/block, each piece of equipment gives diminishing results.

Ignore magic for now. That's a sport for high levels with deep pockets.

The burden/interference thing only really matters for people running evasion builds. So basically people in shade armor and phase mages using a wakizashi (I think?). Your burden/interference stats are already going to be kind of fucked from heavy armor and force shield, so who cares about the tiny amounts your weapon will add.

The main benefit of ethereal is void strike (which is way more impressive than elemental strikes) and void damage type. A weapon with Item World 10 also gets those benefits though, so elemental weapons can be just as impressive as ethereal weapons (albeit without the burden/interference benefits). Therefore, it's better to get an elemental weapon with superior stats and just level it up in the item world than it is to settle on something worse just because it's ethereal. On a related note, ethereal weapons get a random elemental strike added at level 10. Void strike can coexist with two elemental strikes as well.
