Translators inserting silly lines on their own is very, very rare. Most of the time, it really is that stupid. Japan thinks that sort of thing is hot.

This. Its suppose to be arousing to fuck a girl literally stupid to where she would say this dumb and degrading thing. It's basically their version of facial abuse/choking videos: you're dick is so good, it completely degrades a woman to nothingness.

If anything, a lot of it is suppose to be vulgar baby-talk, which then gets translated into shit like "mouthpussy" and "baby pee" because that's the closest thing we can fashion them into in English.

To be totally fair, it is people fucking. I don't see any ways to have clever dialog. Porn is doing the same.

see in that instance though I think it would be forgivable to be a little more liberal with the translation. There's a world of difference between inserting memes and making it a functional piece of dialogue.

with proper context something like

"Ohhh fuck my ass, I love it in the ass" is pretty much the same as "fuck my ass pussy" which is just dumb.

That's a question of localization, really. Some translators have converted lines like that, but a lot will do a literal translation the whole way through because they're uncomfortable with changing the author's own words. The latter isn't necessarily wrong because many readers have a "keep it the same, but with words I can read" attitude.

To use your example, it's likely that the author has already used "fuck my ass" by itself before throwing "ass pussy" out there. As a translator, would you want to shrug your shoulders and type "ass pussy", or do you change it to just "ass" and lose that "ass pussy" feeling? You can add "I love it in the ass", but then you're adding something the author didn't even write. It's alright if it works, but amateur translators and even readers might not be interested in "localizing" a work like that.

It's not about good translations more than it is good storytelling when it comes to translated hentai these days. It's rare to find both in tandem now.

I can understand that amateur translators are not getting paid for the work that they do (aside from those who are commissioned to translate something for someone), but with a little effort, you can produce something worth reading, like this gem I found a few months back. I imagine the writer took some serious inspiration from the artist and his work, trying to deliver an amazing story that would capture both the visual, and the narrative.

The translations these days are too literal, but simplified for those only looking for a quick fap. And that's okay, there's nothing wrong with that.

But when you can come up with a story that's just as alluring, man, that fap becomes gratifying, just as it should be. But hey, that's just me. I enjoy a good read with my fap.

Like most people said, it's really a bit of both but the best example I can remember offhand is the 'as expected of country grown vegetables', where context pretty much would put 'now look at that country grown vegetable!' or close enough.
