Next up we have Po-ju's Secret Journey.

A classic take on the Chinese novel Journey to the West, this has all the great art of Po-ju but unlike most of his other stuff isn't yaoi. Recently made into a shitty anime, Secret Journey has a great cast of characters, interesting scenarios, and a good mix of fetishes to keep things interesting. There's enough non-sex stuff so that it avoids the pitfall of most tanks of just throwing sex at you all the time without giving you time to breathe or invest in any way in the characters. Again, part of the canon for sure.

Here are my nominees:

Take on Me (aka Dominate Me in the western release) by Takemura Sessyu.

A story about two characters who became lovers. It's like a jack-of-all-trades kind of thing with several elements at play but it doesn't go over the top with to them. It has comedy but also dark themes like rape, normal sex but also has bondage with the 'victim' being forced. But it's mostly done in a relatively light-hearted way. The art design is also great. The characters are beautifully draw and nice to look at and the panels are not messy even with raunchy sex being presented. The story is simple enough to be easily understood and enjoyed but also engaging that readers would want to see more of the characters.

If you have someone who wants to have a 'soft' entry to the crazy world of Japanese erotic anime/manga, Take on Me would be an excellent pick for an introduction. It would not scare them immediately with sick fetishes but also it's not too cheesy (at least from my view) for adults.

Michael Keikaku by DISTANCE

While many would suggest other, more 'light' mangas by DISTANCE like HHH or Joshi Luck!, I would have to go with Michael Keikaku because it deals with the relatively rare gender bender theme.

There are very few gender bender works that exist and even fewer are the ones that explore beyond the "what's it like having sex as a woman feel like" phase. The Michael Keikaku trilogy presents a bit more on the "guy-becomes-a-woman" theme. It's about a playboy who gets turned to a girl and gets involved in a human trafficking sort of scheme. Aside from exploring her new physical features and getting raped by men, it also presents the main character accepting her situation and moving forward. The story presents with relationships with boys as a girl, motherhood as well as touching upon same sex (physically) pairings: girl-girl and boy-boy, with the latter being a dark-ish issue. I believe these story elements were handled well given that this is porn.

The sex stuff is pretty vanilla as well. While there is exhibitionism, 3P, 4P, it's not too hard or depraved.

A negative I see is that Saigado tends to start the chapter in the middle of the sex scene, cuts it off to tell how that came to be and then continue where the action cuts off and finish from there. That hurts the impact of the sex scene in my view.

But overall, Hana's Holiday is a light-hearted take on a woman who has no qualms of sleeping with different guys, no strings attached. No dramas, NTR or anything like that, just people having fun through sex.

Both the story and sex scenes are both quite heavy. The story is developed well though there are some instances where the pace was dragging at times. There are a lot of sex scenes that sometimes, some of them feel unnecessary. But there are hot set-ups/situations like the son finding out that her mother is dating a new guy as he sees her kissing said guy in his car and the one where her past lover set up a paid vacation for just the two of them so they can have sex all day and all night. The conclusion was satisfying and there are some extra contents post story so readers can enjoy/appreciate it more.

Overall, it's a serious rollercoaster story with a satisfying conclusion. The themes incest and NTR as well as drama might turn off some readers who aren't into that. But for those who can take those and are into mature women, this one is a good read and fap.

The main hook in the story (for me) is the heroine Kyouko. She's confident and upbeat, cannot be one-upped and is nice to the main character Fujida. She does have a 'weak side' in what is seemingly an intriguing past but unfortunately, it wasn't explored. Still, the events with her and Fujida as well as other characters make this for an enjoyable read.

Overall, it a good read especially if you enjoy how Yonekura draws sexy women. You may enjoy Warau Kangofu more if you want to see the sexy women in a more 'straight' environment. But Pink Sniper is a good entry to gauge your preferences.

Yamatogawa's Witchcraft is a classic. While his art has definitely improved over the years, here it is still quite good. Great female forms, interesting faces, and solid art that has aged very well makes for a great visual experience. Combine that with much better-than-average writing and character design and you have a memorable experience. In terms of fetishes, it has light femdom elements, mind control, and general light witchcraft stuff. It's no Bible Black for sure, but it would be wrong to characterize it purely as vanilla.

Kon-Kit is a great artist who is able to provide a good balance between comedy and sexy in his works. However, it's difficult to say which of his tanks stand out as the best as he makes expandable mini-stories that is spread among his several books.

These mini-stories revolve around different characters. Suicide Man whose life is shit except for his luck with bedding women. USA Mama, an American who marries into an Japanese family and fucks her stepson. Unbeatable Sniper Girl who is a supposedly pro-sniper who doesn't miss until she encounters an impossible target. Onsen Lady, who owns a very secluded hot spring inn near a cliff. And others. These stories exists within the same universe and characters of different 'series' may interact like when Sniper Lady's toughest target is actually USA Mama's Japanese husband and Onsen Lady gets visited by USA Mama, Suicide Man and a Night Hawk Taxi prostitute on several occasions.

Because of such, Kon-Kit's Bitch Trap is the recommendation as that is where most of the multi-chapter, multi-book stories start. I'd also recommend Honey Dip as that's the start of Kaya-nee's and Black Knight Girl's stories.

I think it's great that Kon-Kit revisits the characters of his old stories to add more to them as well as making newer ones like the super heroine Mighty Wife and Midara Books Librarian.

I was thinking of suggesting Blue Eyes at first but found the story and sexual content for it's length to be a great weakness. Scarlet Desire fixes, or at least, limits exposing that weakness. It's also worth noting that Tohru Nishimaki did a reboot of this story in Dear My Mother. In the story, the two lovers are no longer related by blood and there is a bit more presence of the father.

In any case, fans of big breasts, mature women and lovey-dovey incest would want to pick this up.

Some readers may find the conclusion to be a bit lame but the overall journey is still enjoyable for those looking for mature women fun.

Art wise, it has all the trademarks of Azuki Kurenai: mature woman with big breasts, slender legs, long tongue with guys with decent builds and long cocks. The faces are beautiful and handsome (arguably, even the 'bad guys').

Yaritai Site is great. What I like about it is that it doesn't end shortly after she is found out. Most stories tend to do a time skip after the events and just narrates what happens. This one shows us how the couple copes with the separation individually. While I agree that the wife deserves what she got, I'm also glad that she has found her calling and moved on to a different chapter in her life.

I just wish we got to see who her new man is, but I guess he wasn't that important. I was hoping it would be revealed as the old guy.

While I believe you're just exaggerating, he's latest tank was released June 2016. The last chapter of that book was in Mugen Tensei issue of the same month. He hasn't released anything new until the January 2017 of the same magazine. That's about a 6-month break, which is understandable considering his style (more on story rather than sex focused).

If you are not exaggerating, I suppose what you meant was that there has been no english translated release of his works in years. When compared to the Japanese raws, the english translation scene is already 3 tanks behind.

What's tricky with separating multi-chapter to one-shots is that sometimes those one-shots develop into a longer story later (see Kon-Kit's works) or that one-shots of a certain tank/story can feature characters from earlier multi-chapter stories (see DISTANCE's Shichau? and My Sister which featured virgin killer Ryoko from an earlier trilogy).

There's also something in the middle like the tank has 3 2-chapter long story but the other 3 chapters are disconnected one-shots.

A lot of the story driven authors' stuff just doesn't get touched as much any more. Same goes for Nozomu Tamaki. Almost all of Nozomu's stuff is story driven, but never gets translated any more with the exceptions of his doujinshi. Tadaohito translated a lot of his stuff when he was around. As for commissioning, multi-chapter works are quite expensive for one person to shoulder. What made Tadanohito's work is that he implemented an easy to use donor pool on his site to track contributions. While his rate was among the highest back then, many were willing to contribute because of the convenience and transparency of the system as well as his pace for releasing chapters. If translators who are are open to donor pooling can implement a similar convenient system (or maybe use a site that does that) AND can churn out stuff at a quick enough pace to match, I think we can see more people willing to donate to a cause.

Partially true. Formerly prolific translator here, let me explain what I mean.

For the one translating the script, a longer story is usually a good thing, because they get attached to the story and the characters, and will be more motivated to stick with it because of that.
On the other hand, it can be difficult to keep cleaners, typesetters, etc., motivated to work on a series when it stretches on past the three-chapter mark.

There's also the "oh god, he revised some lines/panels/entire pages in the tankoubon, now we have to go back and re-edit them for the complete version and I didn't bother to save the .psd files" thing that happens sometimes.
