I've been wondering the same but it borders stupid question category. Basically, it seems impossible to run win7/Vista games on windows 10, I've tried HF applocale, applocale, Locale Emulator and japanese locale. It runs into some combination of attempting to run the programs in compatibility mode and encountering an error or trying to run the programs through some locale and not compatibility. Combining both leads to odd errors like missing text or crashing when trying to load certain files. I'd assume most of the people here are running win7/8.l1 and doing it that way, as that's what's happening in Japan right now.

The only issue with Locale Emulator is that it doesn't recognize 64 bit executables. Which is infuriating when you want to use 7Zip/WinRAR to extract a Japanese game. It also was an issue with CM3D2 when I wanted to use the 64 bit version soo after the release (dunno how it is as of today). I still have it, but also use NTLeas for 64 bit situations.

There is this thing with zip files containing japanese filenames compressed under japanese locale getting their names messed up when extracted under different locale. (This happens at least on Win 7 and Win 8/8.1. Dunno about Win 10.)

I have tried Microsoft's hotfix, that didn't seem to help.
I have tried running 7zip through Locale Emulator, that didn't work either.

How do you guys deal with this? Does HF pAppLoc works with 7zip better? So far I just reboot into Japanese locale every time I need to extract such a zip archive.
