Generally speaking if you're doing 1080p, anywhere between 3000-4000 is good, you can even go lower if you want to test it to make it optimized.

For 720p, you can go from 1500-2500 and it would be decent quality.

13000, I'm assuming you used some default video editing tool like Vegas, which largely inflate the bitrate for the "max quality" that film industries seek, however is useless for actual viewing.

In short, you'll see a huge reduction in size, I'd estimate 70MB size would be where the 2000-4000 bit rate 1080p will arrive at.

This is much more simple than you guys are making it out to be. Look at the bit rate of the source you're using. If you're using multiple sources, look at the video with the highest bit rate. Then when you go to render, when you select the bit rate, choose the one that exceeds the bit rate of the largest source/file/video you're using. Don't go over anymore than you have to and don't go any less. That will ensure you don't lose any quality while giving you the smallest file size possible.

Unless you want to lose quality on the parts of the HMV that use the 3DCG, you need to go above it.

I used the Blu Ray rip of Oni ChiChi in an HMV once, so the bit rate of the entire project had to be higher than it would have been otherwise. File size should never be higher than it needs to be, but you should never sacrifice picture quality for file size. File size is something you worry about when you go to render, not before or during the editing process. File size should never impact your editing decisions or what sources to include. Just keep it as low as you can without effecting the quality.

Repetitive and boring. The beginning transitions were set pretty well to the beat, but they were too fast. Made it a little disorienting to be honest and the rest of the video was more or less slightly longer cuts, sort of like moving as quickly as you can through scenes you've seen a hundred times before.

It wasn't bad, it was too short though. Quick cuts are perfectly fine, you just dont want to start that fast with them because theres no sense of progression. But good job going in tempo of the beat.

For the start you can even use a scene or two right before penetration of a girl instead of switching to a bunch of girls and do quick cuts switching back to a singular scene while making progress. If you do quick cuts of a scene but still go forward with it, it makes it less choatic, and if you don't wana burn out a scene you can maybe make a title of the HMV and then flash that or something.

You can make anything work, just gotta be creative (; i believe in you.

Judging by the questions you're asking, I gather you're pretty new to this?

In most cases, finding the raw video on nyaa will be mp4, but it takes some digging (since the title will be in Japanese. Easiest way around this would be putting the English title into AniDB. AniDB almost always has the Japanese title which you can copy/paste into nyaa) and for older series, there most likely wont be any seeders. If finding a raw fails, there's some loops you have to jump through but you can also download the soft-subbed MKV releases, and mux out the video with something like mkvtoolnix. Though if you're unlucky it'll need converting through something like Handbrake or XviD4PSP before you can use in it Vegas (not always true, but can be a pain). A rule of thumb I use is never use hard subbed shit, it can look pretty bad, and attention ends up being on the subtitles rather than where you want it to be.

After Effects isn't supposed to be a standalone editing programme, what you're thinking of is Adobe Premiere. I use Vegas personally, though that's only because I've been using it for almost 6 years and I don't fancy taking a few months to learn everything from scratch. Since you've just started, I'd say take a look at Premiere. It's more well supported than Vegas, and if at some point you fancy going professional with video editing, the Adobe package is more desirable in the field. There are of course some more obscure editing packages for things like TV, but they're being slowly phased out. Making sure you get the basics down first, is more important than the editing software you have, however. If you want the simplest answer: Vegas works, keep using it. Forget about After Effects.

Going by a quick glance most of the sources have been used in plenty of hmv and asking nicely in chatzy or discord should give you the accurate names.

While you're at it, you might get more people to look at your work if you provide a download link (especially around here), streaming sites degrade quality. Related to that, I don't recommend taking clips from a Fap Hero, a lot of older FHs aren't great when it comes to video quality.

Other than that, your HMV is good shit. It's a good reminder that flashy special effects aren't necessary for a good HMV. Good clip selection and sync with music (not necessarily the beat of the music) is what matters.

It's cool. Honestly i do it since i use multiple songs and i usually use the entirety of a song or even extend it to make it longer.

For this specific HMV it's dealing with a specific fetish, one i wasent sure how to approach, not because of the lack of ideas but mainly because i had so many ideas on how to go about it.

The first portion is similar to the 2nd portion, but not different enough for me to justify a whole different project. The first half stands on its own two feet just fine but i didnt accomplish everything i wanted, so for me the first one feels unfinished without its second part and i even use an interlude to make it make it more organized as viewer.
Sorry if i ranted, i am making good progress however.

Also adding text changes the dynamic of how the HMV is made if its used throughout the HMV i realized. If i do certain scenes too fast then i cant put text up for too long which makes it illegible and i think i understood this factor as i work on this type of HMV.

Hey, I'm back! Kinda... My big concert went well, and I have some free time on my hands now, so I'm hard at work again until the band has a date for another gig.

Here's a work in progress I've been making for what seems like months off and on (more off then on) I'm looking for criticisms on what looks good and what I should get rid of. You can tell it wasn't made in a day as there is multiple styles I was going for on whatever day I was doing it.

One thing I specifically need to ask is the transitions, there is one 'zoom' sound effect in the song that I really like transitioning with, but I'm not sure which transition is best to use.

at 0:09 I used just a quick fade in, while at 0:11 I did the 'marvel' blur transition, at 0:51 and 0:57 I played with using velocity (to make it look like it's going super fast for a second because the sound effect is playing [something like that]) and at 1:04 I tried playing with quick bluring with noise textures to give it that 'hentai' effect you would see when someone is cumming.

I'm having a real hard time figuring out where I want to go with this hmv as I am just stumped on that stupid transition thing, so if you want to see this actually get made instead of scrapped like the 'baka imouto hmv', please speak up!

This really caught my attention as a way to break out of a writers block is to use the chibi stuff. not enough chibi to fill the hmv? just work more with the humor from that series. I don't know if this will help but here's an old screenshot of Ayachuco's encode settings, I just change the dimensions and bitrate as necessary.

More recently when the mp4 is encoded I then drop that mp4 into Handbrake to try and reduce the size further. That helped tremendously for my sound effect dubs of Taimanin Asagi episodes 2 and 3. I threw my handbrake settings up on the right side there.

Your mileage may vary, I'm no expert.

Sorry for the double post, just alot of things going on here haha.

But i just wanted to say thank you to those who gave me constructive criticism and for those who approached this with an open mind.

Please let me know if the text styling is a good thing or a bad thing. So far i've only heard one anon voice say its not good. I just want to know for the future, if its not a good thing i dont wana spend my energy on something that makes the HMV unappealing.

Also again i catered to a certain crowd and i have no regrets about it haha, just enjoyed playing with new things that I havent done before nor have i seen in other works. If it was my apologies for no noticing, i'm still new myself.

I am going to be working on a new HMV soon. It wont be Text driven like my last one. It will probably be a short one to be honest but i have a cool idea for it, it will be effect heavy so lets see how it turns out. Thanks again you guys happy fapping.

"Go and Google it" isn't an answer since SPH is a publicly traded propane company and can also used as an acronym for School of Public Health or any number of other things.

Okay, with the music found, some feedback.

Text and content are fine by me, you did good on the visuals and such. The spelling and grammar errors really throw me off, see if you can get an editor to spellcheck for you.

Effects on the beat are always a nice touch, although remember that just zooming on the beat lessens the effect when there's nothing actually going on on the screen (like at the start).

Scene/song transitions are good and on point. Slightly off at 05:56 (2 counts late, or 4 early.), only complaint.

Good choice of songs, but your attempts to lengthen them were pretty mediocre. Often off-beat by a note or three, very annoying for folk like me who really get into the music. Try to put some more work into that.

All in all, you've got some nice fresh ideas and you're definitely improving. Good work!

With the text, I'd say a few of the effects are fine but the ones that blur and make it hard to read distract me cuz I try to figure out wat it says and stop paying attention to the boobs. Maybe do certain ones for certain expressions. Also the start of part 2 there were a lot of lips moving but no text there, felt like you could've made use of them. Lastly, try to make the words more lewd and less repetitive, many smalls and bigs there.
