The error in SWF loading is two fold.
The first is the invocation of "getURL", simply doesn't work in newer flash player versions due to security sandboxing.
Second reason is because some recent flash player version, I think v23 or something, totally blocks all load operations unless you whitelist the application.
Fixing this properly, ie: rebuilding the menus as they were intended, would require heavy editing or simply designing a new menu flash.

HOWEVER!

The author uses AS2 which makes creating a new flash tedious, since Adobe phased out AS2 a while back.
This can be worked around by using FlashDevelop + AS2.

Or just use one of the hacky fixes on existing releases.
