Hmmm, I think this pose was rotated for a recent revision of 3D Rooms. You could disable the automatic reset of the camera when changing positions but you'll have to position the camera manually from then onwards.

Get 3D Rooms from the mod pastebin. While you're at it, get More Cumming Positions from there.
Install order is More Cumming Positions -> 3D Rooms -> 3D Rooms MCP patch, do it one at a time in AA2Install.

An iso is a copy of a disc. There's no nightmare if you use /aa2g/'s preinstalled torrent.

Set registry values for AA2 Edit and Play INSTALLDIR.
Repeat with append set data, extracting data and integrating with base directory.
Apply HF patch and whatever other mods.
Run with LocaleEmulator.

Or get a preinstalled copy as people have repeatedly encouraged.

I looked into what the fuck happened to the database and after comparing its uploads.js file to the one in the internet archive snapshot from September it appears they stored shit about every character ever uploaded in a single fucking javascript file and at some point the beginning got cut off. "Upgraded" to Windows 10, put my old hard drive into my new machine and try to run AA2, the windows pops up in English, I click Run with Subs. What mods a card requires is purely up to the card author. I have cards that require no mods at all and cards which require mods that are not publicly available at all.

The majority of cards only require the large mod collections. Like HEXAOC and HEXAHP to work. If you have those, pretty much all but a handful of cards work.
Also when it comes to Touhou class, it's hopelessly outdated. The person who made those hasn't been around for over a year. I wouldn't be surprised if there were non-working cards there.

Has anybody else had performance issues despite having a beefy PC?

I just installed on a new computer and the game goes at like a frame per second, even though I can run most games at high settings. The strange thing is, the game ran fine on my old computer, which didn't even have a graphics card.

The "default" ones. The ones that are included with the default installation. On the screenshot number 12, 13 and 16.

Note that number 10 and 17 can be talked to without issues, as well as number 6 and 8, but not seven (the last three are not on the screenshot - the pink-haired lesbian, the purple-haired twintail whore, and the "normal" tomboy with the blue hair). When I try to to talk to such "untalkable" characters, the game sends me through a bunch of rooms and then just stops - and the interface freezes for five seconds, give or take, until I can re-select a girl.

If Locale Emulator isn't working for you, SBApplocale worked for me.
It's a command line tool, but you can set up a shortcut or batch file to run it with the arguments for you.

For me, there were no characters in Field-Mode at all - usually there are low-poly-models of the students running around, but they didn't show up here. Also you wouldn't be able to select some girls to talk to them - the game would just run to the place where they are supposed to be, but then hangs for a few seconds. Other students would barely interact with you, and it would happen out of nowhere. Some areas were also somewhat distorted - the game felt as if it was constantly loading stuff when it was not, it was just invisible.

I have no clue what you have to fuck up to make your game so depending on the system locale. There has been the rumor that this game was poorly coded (Windows 10 graphical problems and some sort of space overflow), but I have no clue myself.

It comes with the HEXA Override Collection v3.0, or at least the front part does. The spot where it is supposed to go (slot 130) is blank. I've tried monkeying around with the original Stocking hair file to see if I could get it to work, but I don't know what I'm doing so it didn't really go anywhere.
