Surprisingly, this board is very friendly compare to other boards.

/h/ has been here since the beginning but accounts for just 0.21% of post volume (according to 4archive). It's a slow moving board.

Personally I feel that 4chan could be less focused on pornography. There's plenty of other sites to get porn, but only one to get our rich, layered culture of anonymous. (kek)

I also think that the imageboard format (with post rate restrictions, temporary by nature) is not the best format for /h/. Nhentai, Sadpanda, scanlator's blogs are all more fruitful than /h/ generally is. Maybe /h/ should become something other than an imageboard.

Another thing, /pol/ isn't even the busiest board, so there certainly isn't a disproportionate amount of traffic. When I said that 20-30% of regular browsers use /pol/, I meant people who use multiple boards and browse 4chan every day or so, like it's a hobby. If Hiro wanted to cut a board with a disproportionate amount of traffic, and is fairly segregated from regular users, he'd go after /b/ or /soc/ or something.

There is such a thing as bad publicity when it makes advertisers pull out of your platform. 4chan was struggling financially even before moot left. /pol/ isn't worth the negative attention that comes with it from an economic standpoint. As far as traffic goes, I doubt Hiro will be able to sell enough 4chan passes to make the site viable on those alone. Maybe he'll get a brief uptick for a month or so, but the overwhelming majority of people who use this site do so for free and will never be otherwise. That means he'll have to cut boards to reduce server overhead.

I don't like /pol/ or the people on it, but that's not reason enough to close the board. I don't like a lot of people. That said, /pol/ has gotten progressively worse for the last 18 months. It spills over into everything else on this site, as evidenced by the fact we're discussing it's impact in a hentai thread. 4chan is regularly in the news because of the alt-right memers using this place as one of their central hubs.
