Communities shrink over time, especially when faced with a lack of new content or topics to discuss. If anything the discord moves faster than the thread ever did, so I'm not sure how it killed or broke the community.

For most people, the discord and the thread serve the same function, it's just somewhere to watch for new updates from creators. It's on you if you don't want to follow the community to somewhere else, but the only victims here were victimized by themselves.

Sadly I wasn't able to fix the Memory issues that some of you seem to face, but I've added some stuff.

Version 0.2a :
-Add "Options Panel" to adapt the difficulty to your taste.
-Add "Boss Fights" to spice a little the game.
-Add a file "beat_patterns.dat" that you can edit to modify/remove and add patterns to the game.
-The Gifs used in Intro and End scenes are now "slowed down/sped up" to fit the whole Intro/Ending by default (if you don't add any [@#@] to their file names).

This is really the most important aspect for me. When the animation gets sped up too much or is synced to an uneven rhythm, it feels far too mechanical and awkward, and the nuances of the animation are completely lost. I mean, you wouldn't do this with live action footage in any situation, so why do people think it works with animation?

I've been working on a personal compilation recently and considering how dried out this place has gotten due to the lack of content i'm considering sharing it.

It's nearly finished, and by nearly I mean I can finish it and have it uploaded within the next 24 hours assuming I don't make any major changes.

I'm looking for testers willing to see that everything is alright before pushing it. Don't have any high hopes. I'm not an experienced editor by any stretch and It's really just a collab similar to "The Bastati challenge" with some modified breaks for the tempo.

It's about 40 minutes long, has a medium-hard difficulty and focuses on build-up rather than pure difficulty. Talk to me in the Discord if you're interested in testing and if there's enough interest I will have a test version up within the next couple of days. It doesn't have a host but i'd be glad if someone volunteered to make one as I don't have time for that right now.

Okay so apparently all the discussion goes on in discord, but discord just looks like loosely gaming related discussion intermittently and some shitposting/bot talk.

Then when you ask about FH related discussion apparently that goes on even further into the discord servers in semi-private rooms not viewable/joinable to every tom dick and harry off the bat without asking for an invite.

So you have to read a thread, go to the pastebin, pull a link from the pastebin, register an account on said link, join said chatroom, wait on a response after private messaging, and then join the next room for discussion on the topic of the thread we're in now.

What the fuck? Why is everything so sequestered off now? Why the cliques within cliques? The place was never super active to begin with, why did this happen?

Discord is a symptom of the problem, not the cause. People who create shit for free want praise. There's nothing wrong with that, and it isn't surprising. They deserve it.

Think of it like this, instead of money, they get paid in praise. In normal threads, there was too much shit posting and complaining and not enough praise. They weren't getting enough pay for their product, so they move to discord where they can get more. The problem is that once things move to that kind of tiny community, they get showered by praise by a small band of suck-ups even when they don't do anything. Now they get "paid" even when they do no work, so they don't bother working, or they work at a snails pace.

Can't really criticize them for it, I know that if I got paid for doing nothing, I wouldn't bother to work either. If you want to lure content creators back to the threads and out of discord, it has to be via positive reinforcement. If everybody who downloaded a new fap hero just posted a simple 1 line comment saying thanks, that would be a big start. Then you can start including constructive criticism along with the thanks. Instead, when Bastati eventually posts his next work, he'll get 2-3 positive posts, 5 posts complaining, then the goldface posts will begin again over whoever is supposed to release next.

Would any of you want to slave away working for hours on end just to get 5 positive posts? I sure as hell wouldn't. So while I don't like the negative effect that discord has on the amount of work produced, I can't blame creators for going there.

Occasional cock/faphero player here, thought I'd give some feedback.
So far I have been able to identify two characteristics in hero videos. One is number of women per round and the other is the tempo/consistency of beats in a video. These tie together in a manner of speaking.
Cockhero 1-6 is meant to play as one prolonged attrition match. The majority of the rounds are excerpts of a single scene. This allows for mellower, slower beat music and the pressure building slowly over time. Beats are introduced in a logical manner and increase in complexity over time.
The Fapheros that I have been able to play thus far are more all over the place. They are not inferior to cockhero by any means but feel much more like a game. Transitions between scenes and camera effects also feel more natural in animation.

My bottom line here is that the music, tempo and the visuals set the scene. In order to make a good faphero, all of these elements should be in harmony. A good question to ask before is whether the video should be played by hand or ona. This should impact your choice of beats.

Lastly consider your transitions. If you want an example of a bad one, check sailor moon cock hero. Male vocals in general are a big risk.

I tested out BatchVideoToImage Extractor and I see the potential. However on what setting did you run it? I ran it on a 29min video and selected output to "all frames" with the original video settings and left it overnight to see what would happen. I see that it didn't get very far and I had to stop it as the file was already 37gb and had only covered a few seconds in the video.

Amazing just amazing.
Great choice of scenes and music and good variety. Like the beatbar a lot.
Combining a tutorial and a warm up round was cool and the tutorial was well done. Having the reward round inside the credits was creative.
A big thanks for not doing starting the rounds in the middle of the beat bar without giving any time to prepare unlike so many FHs.

However the transitions between rounds looks lazy compared to the good quality of the rest of the FH and the rest period is a bit too short.
Instead "indure" I think it's supposed to say "endure".

So I tested more features. I got it working when I extracted the same 29min video at "frame per second" of the original video. Gives me 10k+ images, but it's less than 5gb, so it's ok! However, when working with Waifu2x to upscale the pictures, well I tried individually "denoise" and "denoise and magnify" and to export as jpg and png. I managed to reduce the process time time from 1000 hours to 100. Unfortunately I do not own a fancy graphic card, so I have waifu2x running with the CPU. My question is to improve the quality of the pictures, do I just need to denoise or do I also need to magnify?
