You could convert images without transparency to jpg. Some need to be resized too 1024x768 too I think.
I would have done that, but my upload speed sucks worse that my download speed.

I have a question: do you have any artists working on this project?

If so, I have a suggestion. The game would have a more polished and aesthetic feel to it if characters had small animations (like breathing, gestures, etc.)

I think a relatively easy first step would be to have an artist make blinking frames for the characters that would happen periodically during dialogue scenes.

So there's my two cents :) Keep up the good work where ever you take this game!

We don't have artists for the girls or backgrounds but hsdev has made all the menus and icons by himself.

We'll add the animations to the game eventually since some games have them, it's just that the game would take an eternity to upload every time so we're thinking about waiting for when we have something more polished.

You could add in a way to upgrade your house. Increase rent for better study results and increase in stamina after resting. also would be a good way to introduce new female neighbors. Maybe add a realtor location to the map or menu. Could also introduce another female there. Just a thought.

Finally add cheats. I know I can just modify the game files like usual, but some people (like myself) play games like this for a nice, quick fap. All the grinding without the option to cheat makes casual gamers that do not have much time for games shy away. (people with jobs etc)

It would be cool if I can use items during sex (items to restore stamina etc). Stocking up items would have more meaning when there is a way to actually use them during action, otherwise you can just always sleep, making the stamina shit pointless (even coffee, because you can just sleep).

The idea for Haramase Simulator was conceived shortly after I came across a CG rip of OLE-M's latest game, 'Saimin Class WONDERFUL'.

As sad as it is to admit ogling at anime chicks, that Ootori character (pic related) really did something to MUH DICK. So much in fact, that I decided I HAD to have her in a game, even if I had to make that game myself. The same goes for Michelle and a few other characters present in the very first release. They are the reason Haramase Simulator exists in the first place.

Of course I knew none of them had pregnant art (at least any extensive amount) but I absolutely didn't want to remove them from the game. So I settled for not having any pregnancy being shown (even though I agree seeing the girls with big bellies is nice).

Regardless, I plan to use that excuse of a plot we have to explain why we don't see any of the girls preggo. And for the characters that DO have pregnant sex CG's, we'll be writing those in as we further develop the game.

As far as I know, there's no complete rip of the game anywhere. I had to download the entire game and rip it myself to get hold of Ootori's char files.

Since base sprites and facial expressions come in separate .png files, I'm guessing whoever ripped it in the first place couldn't be arsed to put them together. Which is understandable, since doing this for this many characters is a pain, even if you automate it with Photoshop. If you want to, you can grab the game on nyaa and use anetoscv to extract all that lewd goodness.

As for the BG's, check OLE-M previous game. I'm pretty sure they are the exact same backgrounds used in Saimin WONDERFUL.

The renpy console has been disabled in the last few releases to encourage playing the game legitimately so we (the devs) can find bugs easier.

Modifying game variables with the dev console is the real problem as the game checks them regularly to determine your progression in the game for the various scene's.

But those images which have no alpha should just be jpg (some already are).
On a side note: A lot of images are not 1024x768; it would make sense to resize them.

As for size reduction, I did a test with one of the backgrounds (bg02a.png) ripped from the game.

The original png has 2.309kB
Optimized, it has 687kB
As jpg with 90% quality, it has 153kB which is more than 4x as efficient

Concerning artifacts: take a look at the image. One half was compressed as jpg, the other half untouched. No visible difference.

And to be honest: the worst artifacts are the already in the pngs: pussy mosaics.

Quick update on what we've been working on these past few days.

-There's now an option to change the duration of pregnancies. You can even make them last the full 9-months, just in case you're into 'MUH REALISM'. Mind you this will probably unbalance the game, so experiment at your own risk.

-We've added a few new girls and expanded the scripts for the existing ones: Hayasaki now has fully written, lovey dovey, h-scenes. Kira (written by randomanon) and Beatrice have been officially added into the game. Rumines' scenes are starting to taking shape, as we enable the 'Event Hall' location to be visited. We're also going to be meeting Alexis, Michelle's younger sister.
