There's a save file in the game's folder, should have "sav" somewhere in the filename or file extension. Loading an old save in the new game, going to "Memories" and back, and overwriting the old save slot should get it to work properly, if I recall correctly.

Hot damn. I saw this game in here quite a while ago, I come back and there's still threads on this? I'm surprised, to say the least. That was enough to catch my attention, because what could be in this that could make it go... viral?

Long story short, I got to it, and it was a clever guilt trip at first. Taking care(or not) of scarred, damaged person was a promising start and a solid ground-up to further development. Maybe it was a little because I kind of identified with Sylvie at first, but it slowly turned into making her a slave of yours, just in a different manner.

The irony is that weeb rules do apply, and there are surely some who developed some kind of emotional attachment in a dark corner of their slightly neckbearded brains.

It was one of my first nakige games or a VN game in general for that matter. I wasn't prepared for the feels to say the least. And Rin herself doesn't make it any easier since she's deliberately made to be confusing and frustrating to deal with. People say her dialogue is hard to get, but miss the fact that that is very much the point of it.

I will admit, near the end I was so frustrated myself, I started skipping some of the scenes but the overall emotional roller coaster this game gave me still haunts me to this day. Whenever I think of her last line in the happy ending I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. I still can't decide if that is good or bad, though.

I haven't play that much VNs, probably less than half a dozen. But I can safely say I prefer the happy themed once, like Nekopara or stuff like that. Real life is full of misery, I don't see the point of transferring it to the virtual reality as well. Although I admit, I'm glad for the experience that KS gave me.

WtK is a mostly feels-good H VN (though the five month break in the Risa path can hurt).

A'ight, so, bit of a snag on the TL. I had -thought- the triggers were done but when I went to test them the game ended up shattering into a thousand pieces. After breaking down the problem into smaller parts, I've pinpointed it to the use of an apostrophe in the communication box.

So at least for now, apostrophes in the communication system are a no-no (complete game freeze, no choice but to restart program). I don't think there's a solution to the problem, either. I had a poke through Tyrano's text box parameters and it doesn't seem there's a way to make it ignore it if a user inputs an apostrophe. If I could just have it ignore that character everything would be fine, but...argh.

For now I'll just rewrite the triggers to avoid the use of contractions and add a note about it to the readme. Can't wait for the torrent of complaints about frozen games. orz

I'm...actually kind of confident that I can fix it, now. It's a bug in Tyrano, but I can tear into that. I've already written a function to clean up text inputs, I just have to figure out how to call it properly during the transition from text box value to memory.

Note though that this won't fix names, only communication. This is because my code removes illegal characters, and the TL script ignores illegal characters. So if you tell Sylvie, "Let's go out," the script actually would send "Lets go out". Thus if you try to set your name to "M'lady" Sylvie will call you "Mlady" instead.

Yeah nah, I'm actually rewriting Tyrano to fix it since this has to be done before the value of the text box gets passed to memory. The advantage is it completely fixes the bug, with the disadvantage being rewriting a core tyrano component and breaking non-alphanumeric inputs completely.

Sorry, forgot to respond to your question. I fixed the illegal character input by only allowing alphanumeric, spaces and punctuation. So the unicode characters won't work either. Sorry, no hearts in your name.

In return, you can speak 'normally' to Sylvie. I'd say that's a price worth paying.
