I used to be a motivational speaker in college. After that, I worked in marketing relations for 15 years, hell I even had a book published on how to speak in front of an audience.
After severe depression brought on by my wife's passing, I retired early (helped by life insurance payout) sold my house and moved into a cheap apartment with good net. I don't think I've talked to anyone except for my closest family for 3 or 4 years now.
