The software is Source Filmmaker, which you can download for free on Steam. There's a huge, hour-long official tutorial for it on youtube, too, which should cover most of the basics.

The bounce depends on the model used. Some models have integrated jigglebones for breasts, butt, or hair that automate the bouncy movements. Aardvark wanted to do stuff with Samus but couldn't get past working with the models, so he loaded up DoA's Sarah Bryant, sculpted her face, gave her new hair, clothes and more importantly a skeleton you can actually work with and released her. People use her because she looks way better than the plastic-looking SSB4 model

If you don't like it, feel free to go mess around on Blender and fix that, since everything in SFM is made by the crowd.

He was also making a Tifa model based on Momiji, but I'm not sure if that was ever completed. Shame, we could use some Tifa SFM.

Mostly because making models is not related to SFM at all, so some people are just animators, some people are both (like Aardvark) and some made work in groups (like StudioFow)

If people making animations with Samus Bryant are ok with her, good for them, they should keep working with it. If someone dislikes her like a bunch of people here, go download Blender/Maya, SSB4 Samus' model and do something better, maybe animators will pick that up once it's done

I support some artists on patreon too, some of them are strictly animators and I don't see how they are not "actually putting work into it"

Maybe i'm just biased because I actually do put working into it, I make my own music. a friend lets me use her voice, I do textures and set pieces aswell as models and rigging.

Look closer at the background on alot of SFM webms you see, they are similar.

Alot of people making these things are simply putting pieces other people have made together and expecting several grand a month on patreon for it.

I do believe you are putting in a lot of work into your stuff (even though I have no idea of who you are), but sometimes better production quality doesn't guarantee a fanbase. I think that dedication does reward you after you get noticed, but until then you'll probably see people with less investment (at least from your point of view) get a bigger reward, sometimes it's luck, sometimes they get reblogged by a famous artist, one post might have blown up because it had a good concept or a character people were interested in seeing (like when people spammed tons of Overwatch animations). Sometimes it's also a matter of appealing to a specific demographic aka the Shadman factor: his coloring is something that would probably kill an art teacher and he could really use some loomis, but he amassed a fanbase because he found his niche

Also, I don't see that many people bitching about Patreon, to be honest. The closest I've seen is Aardvark before Patreon changed how pledging worked so people chipped in but withdrew their pledges before they got charged
