Then he gets to the mountain top, and its shown that he was buying things to commemorate his sons death, that was the day he died, in the town he died in. (His son was there for the attempt to conquer the city, and died following his orders)

What happens next is him singing the song and crying.

Its not powerful at all unless you invested the 3 seasons that takes place to build up to this moment.

Tried to off myself before fathers day, next day after the hospital I go home, give him his card like any other year and say happy fathers day.
