I wish I could lock the camera in the other direction for RE4. There's a Cheat Engine script that sort of lets you move the camera around, but it doesn't work when you are moving or doing anything.

To me, having either men or women be the creatively offed mook would not change much, it is a role that either gender could easily fill. (I'd argue out of personal taste that there are characters more interesting the than both of them, but I digress.) And I also agree that there are individuals who would find the two of them sexually attractive, but I would argue that there is a different intent in what is being trying to be conveyed within their design as compared to Lara Croft or even Samus in her Zero Suit. Any sort of sexuality brought out isn’t something inherent to the design or found within the marketing of the game. It serves to shape him into his cocky playboy character, which again, those qualities can be sexual for individuals, but isn’t being really being designed as a sexualized thing. There is a difference between a sexual design and a sexualized design, and women usually are just sexualized.

Even looking in this thread, there are a lot of creative choices being made that seemed more designed to illicit specifically sexual responses, or if they aren’t, definitely seems that way, enough that it going unnoticed would be surprising. If you've ever seen the movie Tangled, then you know that the character of Flynn is the quintessential adventurous, mysterious, swashbuckling type. Guess what? He was specifically designed to be as sexually attractive to women as possible. That's the kind of character that the majority of women find attractive. It doesn't matter that men find them interesting too. Nathan Drake, Ezio, Link, Norman Reedus; wow, it's almost like a lot of the AAA games this generation are keeping the woman gamer in mind.
