I actually have a download manager I wrote that scrapes the pages with selenium and gets all meta data. That is stored in json files and an SQLite database. It takes intermittent screenshots with FFMPEG and uses them as thumbnails. Then I wrote a viewer in node so that I can power search through all of it and watch them on any device I own.

So this downloads videos from the source site and keeps the metadata from the download page, then sets up a media web interface that works on any device? Very nice. Sucks that you have to pay for the sites to do this though.

I don't think HTML, CSS, or Javascript is necessarily hard.

That being said, that node application took... awhile. You have to also know Node and how to setup a server, as well as some sort of database language, I used SQLite instead of Mongo for personal reasons. I also spent time making sure that the page has responsive design, so it looks different if you scale it... so it reformat's on my phone, and I also made sure that it would use meta linking to that it would launch an application on my phone instead of the webplayer. I still need to write an application link for pot player to intercept and use with MediaBrowse...

Also, asynchronous javascript between the client and the server is Satan incarnate. I much prefer C#, I fucking hate dealing with debugging javascript in complex applications.

My last boyfriend told me I should try to sell this software... but it is still buggy and I would need to polish the hell out of it and add so many interfaces for personal options. Not worth it IMO.
