It varies from figure to figure. From my experience, you can clean them off with cold water and a washcloth fairly quickly. The only issues I've run into with mine have been with the tiny detailed spaces (eg. The hair near the face, or the bow on the chest). It's not impossible to clean, it just takes a little more effort, so I try to stay away from the little spaces if my figure has them.
