I felt, if anything, the folks that made this rehash did it with the originals firmly in mind; obviously the makers were themselves fans who grew up watching the earliest Evil Deads, and IMO they did everything they could nod to the OG's while still trying to be fresh/ make it their own.
If I'll entertain a gripe, then I'll say that they could have been brave, said fuck the fans, and really tried something experimental to truly make it their own. Instead however they chose to be respectful and follow the path previously worn, a fact conveniently missed by the "diehard" fans. The movie was for them, by them, but still they whine.

Biggest head shake: Bruce Campbell was in the mother fucker.
