the bitrate says leave blank for program to decide.
it's a good program, so i left blank.

The bitrate determines the size of the file you encode. At lower resolutions lower bitrates are okay, but when you have a shorter runtime for your video you can increase it. Usually I make my target 30s at 1000k for up to 720p. If it's 10s instead I can make it 2000 and get about the same file size, and it's even okay to use 1080p at that kinda bitrate. I use command line ffmpeg, but the results you're getting seem good enough.
