Heaven Sent is probably one of my favourite episodes of the 'new-Who' era. When Moffat is on form his episodes are just brilliant (Blink, Silence in the Library)

Ashildr was a good yard stick of immortality too - with a finite memory the long aeons were barable. Even The Doctor's memory is faulty, but he could be forgiven for not being able to remember the "Mme Pomadeur" after 1200 years of life - I mean, I can't remember what I did last friday, let alone what I did ten years ago on a friday... and the big things are merely placeholders in my memory.

I think the show clarifies the experience of eternity very well - in that it's a horrifying concept. Immortality isn't for everybody.
