I'll agree that a lot of cops are possibly macho-dickweed-army-nuts that failed to get into military service or have a permanent hard-on for that militaristic attitude to uniformed services - but the vast majority of cops join because they want to make a difference to communities by locking up bad people.

What would you rather do, lock up a rapist or hand out traffic violations? But naturally with the job you gotta do the latter much, much more. Military SHOULD be different to police.
