In other words, if I point out that using men to fight in wars is a gender role, you can't just dismiss that by pretending it's an arbitrary cultural construct. Now imagine there's a war and they lose half their soldiers, and their soldiers were male. 30 males and 60 females. Most of the males are happy to fuck two women. The birthrate is therefore still about 3 children per female. 60*3=180 There's no change from the not-war situation.

So you see, these roles aren't cultural constructs. They flow from our biology and as a result, our instincts are geared toward them.
