I used to ride a bike around town a lot, because I'm poor and was in the process of saving up for a car.

K so I can admit he didn't check before merging which wasn't wise at all BUT if you look at the road lines the truck driver is 100% in the wrong.

The lane the truck was in was the exiting lane that went off to the right and instead of exiting like he was supposed to, he cut across the median (which is an illegal maneuver) and hit a cyclist that was merging into a lane that only had just begun. Other than anticipating bad drivers, there wouldn't be much reason to shoulder-check that lane.

Think about when you exit a highway. You ride the far right lane for the last little bit and merge right when the option becomes available and because there is no lane to your right, you're a lot less likely to check there. It's a bad driving habit that I do all the time but it's one that makes sense.

All that aside, the cyclist actually signals. If the cyclists in my fucking city signaled their actions, they would get their own parade.

I do think its stupid to cycle on the highway though. With the differences in speed, reaction times that are too slow and drivers/cyclists that suck at driving/riding you're asking for trouble

I stay as far to the right as I can go, I move over for cars, I don't split lanes at stop lights or signs and pull up beside them, I don't run through any stops, and i signal. We mainly killed animals. And animals every now and again kill each other too. Even rabbits kill their young. Cats I've seen videos of randomly doing it.
