UX-6 spy camera. It acts as a charger that has a Camera at the front and it actually charges electronics! I set up a pair of speakers with a phone dock. Took an old phone, formatted it and loaded tons of music to it. Keep it in the bathroom on a stand as a little music box. Wife thinks nothing of it, uses it all the time. I shower then start a spycam app that runs in the background. Target showers soon after and sometimes even uses the phone to listen to music during their shower. The phone records everything. All videos are automatically backed up to my server then deleted from the phone. Phone never runs out of power since it is plugged in. Never runs out of space since it dumps all data immediately. I've seen every single one of her friends naked bodies.

I have a beach house. I'm going to be there for a month next July and a bunch of my cousin's college aged friends are going to be visiting for a few days here and there. They love that I'm allowing them to use the place for free. That phone dock will be traveling with me this summer. I'm trying to improve a few things in other parts of the house before they come visit (outdoor shower for cleaning sand off after the beach, bedroom, etc.). It's just expensive of you want good quality and automatic recording.

That is all done server side. I have the phone mounted to my server as a networked drive. The server watches for new files in a certain folder and copies them to a local folder. It then deletes the original. To prevent corruption (copying a file too early/still in progress), I have it set to a 5 minute delay... Only files created older than 5 minutes ago will be copied. They are 3 minute video clips, so it gives the phone plenty of time to record the complete file before it gets copied and deleted. Before deletion, the server will ensure the file is a match. If not, it will copy the file again. At 3am daily, I have a cleaner app wipe the folder entirely and write random 1s and 0s to the blank space. If something fails, I will receive an email from my server saying that the SMART status of my hdd is degraded. If I've been recording that day, I know to look into it before 3am.

I plan on trying a similar setup at my beach house, but I'd like it to be as automated possible. I plan on finding a way to record motion 24/7 with multiple cameras. I have to cover 3 bathrooms (including one outside) and 4 guest bedrooms. My dream would be to have 2 or 3 cameras in each room, but it's a lot to set up within a few months, and a ton of HDD space would be needed. Might be something for next year.

I rent the place week by week for a certain portion of the summer. Eventually, every person who rents from me is going to be filmed in their most private moments.. Going to take a lot of testing before I'm cool with turning it all on and leaving it running unattended. Maybe that's something for a year or two down the line.

I'd love to have 2 cameras in each shower catching front and back and then two in each bathroom catching both sides. Then a few cameras in each bedroom. I'd love some kind of night vision but I need to look into how covert and undetectable these are. Would love to catch some college spring break style drunken sex.

I'm trained in carpentry and electrical. I also know enough about plumbing and IT to get my through, so I don't have issues with setting this all up.

If I knew my shit want going to get destroyed by drunken college kids, I'd put a tablet in each room for lighting/blind/temperature control etc. and use the camera in those devices to start off with, because if rather not deal with hiding them... But I'll come up with something. You can hide a lot in a dark textured wall, inside appliances and light fixtures.
