I live in Canada, which means if he starts a war, my country is likely to join the U.S in combat. I have friends and family in the military. Some that were deployed under Bush and then Obama. Some didnt return mentally/physically. Some didnt return at all.

I'm not angry. I'm just concerned that this man controls an army and holds sway in international alliances/affiliations that may force my people into a situation that they shouldn't be in. This was a stupid point from the get go, the USA has been dragging its allies in to wars for decades. Anyone that joins the military of one of the USAs allies should be aware of this and it should not come as a surprise when they end up in a foreign country stepping on IEDs.

If Canada had mandatory service I would understand your reservations but even if that were the case that is an internal problem and not the USAs fault. All the countries allied to the USA have benefited from their military strength for decades, their join contribution is nothing compared to what the USA alone brings to the table.

With the alternative being Stephen Harper, I would've voted for a turnip. Weak leadership like his got our government involved multiple wars, scandals, environmental law degradation, social policy degradation, public funding cuts with growing deficit somehow, and he tried to drastically weaken the public healthcare system.

This is completely backwards because soldiers most commonly (in Canada at least) don't sign up to play Rambo.
