I knew a girl in high school who was born congenitally with only one leg. I remember she used to have this really shitty prosthetic where the knee would hardly even bend, so she was always limping and lurching like a caveman. But then later I saw her in college, and she'd gotten a new prosthetic that was much better designed, and she could almost walk like a normal person. It brightened my day.
