so I am not sure if I can hijack this thread, but the situation is similar.

my girlfriend is about to open an etsy store selling art that she paints digitally, and she wants to know if she should remove the white background from her scans before selling them.

I have tried seeing if there is a time when you should do it or shouldn't do it, but I couldn't find it when I looked.

One thing is when it scans in, if I check the RGB values, they are slightly gray (254, 254,254). Does this realistically matter in a printing process?
