Wich one do you use on your daily work?
Recently I began a intership in a agency and I noticed almost everyone uses a tablet instead of the mouse. I've always worked using a mouse but it kept me wondering why is that. I mean even for photo retouching, web design or video editing they still use a tablet instead of a mouse.
Let me guess; they have shitty apple mice that make the cursor skitter even when moved slowly over an ideal surface.

Because they're hipsters. I've seen a YouTube video of a guy doing UI work with a pen display. It's absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary, if not even a handicap. Unless you use the brush tool a lot I see no reason for it. Instead, use a mouse with programmable buttons. Hotkeys are the best.

They actually have imac + apple keyboard + wacom intuos&bamboo + pic related.

Tablet for anything that benefits from pressure sensitivity. A (good) mouse otherwise. I'd rather use an Intuos full time than have to deal with something like the shitty apple mouse.

Both.
I have a Razer Naga with 12 buttons on the side for every little shortcut I'll ever need. For anything with precise work, or something I need to do by hand, my Wacom is standing by in front of me. It looks like shitty ass "gaymer gear", but it's more useful than anything I've owned.
A good designer uses all the tools available at their disposal. To disregard one that's better suited to a task is literally retarded.
The people you work with are just hipsters trying to be cool.
That being said, there are some benefits to using a tablet in favor of a mouse for regular work. I've done it from time to time to give my mouse hand a break. I'm left handed, but I use the mouse with my right, so I can flip-flop hands whenever I want. So I guess negating carpal tunnel would be a good use of a tablet instead of a mouse. Though not by much I guess.

I'm talking about the mouse, in case that wasn't clear.
