Well, my name is Megan, I'm majoring in Social Design Studies at Del Aire State university of california. My strong points are understanding briefs, choosing colors and I'm great at layouts. I'd like to behead Ms Liepzic my cutlery design teacher cause she always picks on me like I care about what she thinks.
I hope I graduate from this school because my dad has a communication agency and there is a spot for me there if I get my diploma.

Not sure why you didn't include graduates / certificate achievers here... uh, you know some of us have already finished right? And still like to visit boards like this. I really liked my courses overall. I especially liked the strict, seemingly asshole guy (name is irrelevant), perhaps because he wasn't an asshole to me since I did good work, on schedule, and did it better than most of the other students. I heard a lot of them talk shit about him because they got low grades, but the truth is that he was one of the great ones. They just didn't like him because he didn't like their shitty, half assed work. He owned the In Design class (digital/desktop publication) and a few others. I heard he's still teaching there. My favorite was the photography, 3D and web teacher because he was very innovative and really stayed up on all the latest breaks in trends and advances in software tools. No surprise, THAT guy became department chair just before I finished my time there. There was one teacher who really just fucking failed and I don't know how he held the job. He didn't teach shit. He would just put a tutorial video on the projector after he arrived late to the classroom and then any questions we had on how to do the assignment, he would just tell us to look up the solution on google or some shit. Total jackass and he doesn't deserve the job. Yet, he also liked my work so I never hated him entirely. Haha, I don't know how many times he would announce to the class that my work (and name a few other students) was "acceptable, and the rest of you need to go back to the drawing board and start over". He was just fucking lazy, I guess.

Got my pretty little papers of proof of study, and I've been in design work for the past 5 years now.

Every graphic design teacher I've had has been a fucking dick. I learned more from just doing shit on my own. One of them just put up a tutorial video and expected us to just work from there. The other straight up just ignored me when I asked for help.

The only teacher that's sort of ok i guess is my current Digital Imaging (photoshop) teacher. She isn't super pretentious, but she does try to get into some mindless philosophical shit sometimes which I think is pointless. Also she's super chill when it comes to assignments. You can basically change the assignment if you want, and she accepts late work.

Also i think she might want my dick. But that's beside the point.

Currently in my last year for my degree.
Everything is pretty great, professors are great, school is too.
It's a 'paid' degree by the way but actually not that much a year (only 600~€).
Projects are pretty good, they require a fuckton of drawing thought.
Classmates are all normies, sadboys or metals (the ones that listen to heavy metal and that are cringey).
Nothing else.

I assume you're in Europe. If so, where? I've been searching for Art Schools in Europe and the one that has struck me most is in Florence. It's hella nice but also quite expensive. I'm a factory worker, 25 soon. Learning /gd/ theory from books currently.

im in my last semester and currently in the process of editing pieces for my final portfolio. I'm also designing a website for myself this semester. I'm pretty nervous about failing because 20% of my grade for my portfolio class is getting a job interview and having your work critiqued and so far I haven't heard back from any of the jobs I've sent my resume and cover letter too. I think its a combination of lack of experience and the quality of work samples I'm sending out. I need to have the interview done by December so I may just focus the rest of this month on making my pieces as strong as possible then try again next month when I have stronger pieces but I know with holidays coming up its going to be more difficult.

Who here /hates packaging/ ? My classmates are so fucking into cutting carboard structures and slapping logos on it which I think is the dumbest discipline ever.

Other than that it's all okay, Im starting a joint zine project with people from graphic design, fine arts, and photography. I wanna be a print artist after I graduate so Im super into it, and also super scared of fucking it up.

This is actually me right now, word for word. Final portfolio, website, job interview, all of it. I feel you, all the job postings I applied to have yet to send me any form of response. I just want graduate already and forget I ever choose to go to this school and program.
