Why is this board so shitty? I feel like none of you actually work in the (graphic) design industry at all.

How on earth could any of us verify that we do to any degree of satisfaction that we're not cat fishing or trolling, without opening ourselves up to spam or abuse?
And more importantly, who cares? We're shitty because design molds us to be through disappointment, resentment, jealousy, and overwhelming feelings of inadequacy, regardless of actual skill level or demonstratable merit.
I come here looking for web design help but all everyone talks about is fonts and logos. It's a shame really...

I am subscribed to objektiv, its actually an addition to Dnevnik. I always love their front page and recently they have graphs pron on the back side - like maps, statictics,... all beautifully designed.
agreed.
this board is for people who aren't at all great at design who self-proclaim themselves graphic designers---> who get salty and get mad at each other about whose work stinks more of the shit.
it entertains me to a certain extent to read the nonsense, then i go back and touch myself to words on pictures in full color magazines.
All imageboards are kind of the same. Because anybody can post anywhere, you will mostly have people who aren't expert in the board's topic.
In my opinion though, the average post quality would increase ten times if we just refused to answer any request, like they do in /a/. Not doing free work is one thing, but the board is still cluttered with dozens and dozens of request for critiques, tutorials, fonts, stock images, etc.
If you want to attract people who respect graphic design as a medium, /gd/ should be strictly for discussion and inspiration.

Fuck off. If you wanted curated pro shit why don't cha wank off to somewhere that isn't an anonymous image board.
>>272609
this shit got way too real way too fast

It used to be better, but I think the constant shit and lack of good critiques and threads resulting in most of the good professionals leaving a year or two ago.
Now we are left with kids who want to be graphic designers, freelancers who have to scrap the barrel just to get by, and those that are just waiting to be perma banned from 4chan so we can finally grow up.
You get the board you deserve. If you don't get your hands dirty and bully the bad posters til they leave your board, they multiply and eventually they colonize.
This is pretty sad desu.
Not a designer by trade, I'm here for the NAWLEDGE.
