Hello, /gd/

I'm going to register a game company, and I need a logo for that purpose.
I have pretty much decided on these three variations, but I thought I'd ask for some feedback first.
I'm generally pleased with the look, but I've never made a logo before, so I might have made rookie mistakes.

Have a couple more variations, which I'll post below, but I think these will fit best.

Began with this, in MS Paint, at a much lower resolution.

Here's a test mock with the early low-resolution logos.
(Haven't put the new ones on graphics yet)

That's it. I'll stop spamming now.

Slow board, isn't it?

Just one, at the moment.
We're trying to make a Castlevania-like game, with graphics of the kind found in the PS1 to DS-era.

Using GM:S.

>And do you have any gameplay gifs/webms/videos?
Have this, but it's still very WIP, with a lot of animations missing and everything.

i really like the one in the middle just remove the copyright (it's not necessary just use the ® trademark symbol) also maybe research your competition logos to see if you're missing something.
>>
>>271532
Thanks, and noted!

>just remove the copyright (it's not necessary just use the ® trademark symbol)
Yes, it's just to test balance. We're probably not going to use it.
The ® is illegal to use unless you've filed a real copyright on the graphics.

Well, doesn't seem like there's much feedback to be had here.
Is this board even alive?

Going to bed now
>>

dude, usually /gd/ doesn't have more than 50 people lurking per day. and threads could last for months even if no one bumps it i recall a few that lasted more than a year.
>>
>>271512
I think it looks cool man. I saw you posting on /v/ the other day too.

One thing I'd change is moving the L (and subsequently the A) closer to the F just a bit, and don't use the emboss/drop shadow stuff.
>>
>>271512
That middle one is great; just ditch the copyright like everyone else is saying. You are done, time to ship.
>>
>>271512
They're all cool. I think you should see what happens when you scale them down, maybe you should use number 2 where appropriate but have number 1 (but taken directly from number 2) in contexts like apps/favicons
>>
>>271547
Really? That's a surprise. I expected this place to be filled with all the teenagers who claim they're into graphic design these days.

>>271551
Thanks a lot!

>One thing I'd change is moving the L (and subsequently the A) closer to the F just a bit
Will try that.

>>271552
Haha, great news. Thanks!

>>271597
Thanks, and yeah, I made three versions to have some freedom in terms of where and what the logo can be used for.
I will be using all three, but on different materials.
>>
Some guy reported reading the T as a D, for some reason.
Is anyone else having that issue?
>>
>>271512
wich programs do you use to make the sounds?
it looks awesome by the way
>>
>I need a logo for that purpose.

The three versions you have are as logos, from left to right:
Bad
Horrible
Terrible

Logos have to be very simple, and what you have right now are icons, not logos. There's too much detail in them to work as logos.

The only one that has potential is the first one, the T in the box, but it needs to be simplified even further.
>>
>>271817
The sounds?
We have just been using free sound effects so far, but we're probably going to pay at least one musician for the background music.
>>
>>271619
Yup I read it as a D when used with the full name. The T as a standalone symbol reads as a T
>>
>>271619
Keep that little triangle from #1 in the corner of all three maybe
>>
>>271955
Oh cool thanks for the answer
>>
>>271828
It's completely depends on the applications, we're not talking about a global company that has hundreds of applications, we're talking about a video game. I think they can all be used appropriately, I mean go look at any video game logo...
