So how do you handle the memory usage of photoshop?
After many strokes with a brush the ram consumed goes easily to 500mb, while its not a problem, I notice a huge lag on inputs, pic related.

how much ram do you have?
>>245982
8gb but the input lag comes really soon. Closing and opening photoshop fixes it but its annoying as fug

Lazy mouse plugin and more RAM
Also get an SSD
You can control how much RAM PS uses in the preferences

For any workstation computer, 16GB of RAM is minimum in this day and age.
I've been using my build since 2012 and I'm very satisfied to this day.
>16GB DDR3 1866MHz
>i7 4770K @4.4GHz
>Gigabyte Windforce GTX 780 3GB

I have an old early mac pro that I installed mavericks on.
Cpu was shit so my 12 yo decides to compensate with 32GB ram. Not such a stupid idea.
