Until this summer 64 bit firefox on GNU/Linux had perfect performance even with 200+ tabs open.
Now firefox shits itself when I have over 60 tabs open.

found your problem

try a normal Linux distribution rather than GNU-shit? those are notorious for making you wade through hoops of shit to do things

I use Ubuntu
>>62472055
are you talking about the builds from ftp.mozilla.org or you distro's repos
i bet it's the latter bc i use the former and it's all good
>>62472146
more like nubuntu
>>62472055
200 tabs?
sure my machine could easily handle that. but when I have 15 tabs open its too many and I start closing them. just enable history and have bookmarks you retard.

for more info
Mozilla knows that 57 will be unpopular, so they crippled Firefox 2 versions back to force you to update to 57 when it comes out.

Windows 10 doesn't have this problem.

Its the multithreading. Previously non-viewed tabs were paused by default because single thread. Now e10s tries to run (4 I think) tabs all the time for a smoother experience, and fails.
