PTP's newer torrents don't have this problem, as they implemented a system to prevent it. Specifically, in the infohash, they set a "Source" key to "PTP".

In extremely rare situations encodes can be better, sure. John Wick 2 is not one of them, unless you really hate those few hard coded lines. Hybrid remuxes also exists if one source has better PQ and another better audio. Dunno if that's technically a remux anymore but that's how they tag them.

Minor fixes like debanding are most certainly not going to make the file look better than source. For 99% of releases it's not debatable.
