Firefox Nightly
custom user.js, custom userchrome.css, deleted stuff in """features""" folder, ublock0, umatrix, smarthttps, decentraleyes, cookie autodelete, violentmonkey, stylus, external application button.
Doesn't get comfier than this.

Opens videos in mpv instead of playing them inside your browser.

Holy cow, anon, that's pretty cool. I've been manually copying YouTube links, and I could have just automated the process this whole time.

Yeah, real comfy when ESR starts breaking because shit like its media support is a year out of date.

Firefox ESR will support the current media standards for many years to come, it's not like next month we're gonna find h.266 or something new that it can't handle. Besides, codecs are easy to implement even if it's part of the base code of a browser, get real.

my workplace outsourced their project management site to some guy who ended up giving us some half-finished product

it doesnt use https, and if you try to access it with https in front, it says invalid username/pass

can anyone explain to me why that happens?

HTTPS isn't just an option you flip on. You have to properly set it up, register the certificates and shit.
>>
>>62474220
I understand that, but isn't that what 'https everywhere' does anyway?

what i was wondering was why trying to force https makes the login not work

I don't know much about this stuff
>>
>>62474280
>isn't that what 'https everywhere' does anyway?
No. https is like a roadway that's fenced in and guarded, with a security gate at either end so only authorized people can get in. https everywhere is a police officer that yells at you every time you try to walk down the normal road next to it.
>>
>>62474323
oh right, so does 'https everywhere' just flat out bar access from sites that don't use ssl or something like that?
>>
>>62474345
It can. Its default behavior is supposed to be to just to turn it on if it is an option, since a lot of sites don't default to it.

perfecto. If you need custom css / features use tampermonkey to inject it. ez.

Sad, but other browsers are way inferior. I just can't replicate the comfiness.

This. Pic related. Firefox may have botnet, but they also make it easy to overcome said botnet via extensions, user.js, etc., ... Even jewhill agrees. Just because things are perfect doesn't mean you should put up your hands and say "fuck it" and use a proprietary solution.
