What happened to them?
IBM became ICBM and moved to NK
>>62440968
They are still doing what is their purpose. BUSINESS
>>62441093
Except they're not doing business with the end user anymore. Actually, they're everywhere and you don't see them.
>>62440968
They stopped giving a fuck about consumer space.
>>62440968
"Watson" is nothing more than an ambiguous term for IBM's PR division.
>>62442061
nope.avi
Basically this >>62441152
IBM left PC peripheral manufacture (keyboards and the like) because it was a commodity market. They did the same with laptops and desktops for the same reason. In 2014 they sold off their x86_64 server business because that had become a commodity too. They sell limited hardware (POWER based servers) and do a ton of software based shit, especially services and consulting.
and this >>62442061
Watson is getting applied to fucking EVERYTHING as a brand. Have some random cloud control panel? It's now a watson control panel. IBM claims that everything branded watson is high end AI, but that claim is bogus judging by recent rebrands.
>>62440968
Nothing. They are doing well.
>>62442150
/g/ thinks if they don't see a brand in the consumer space that they're irrelevant or gone. The reality is that you're only going to see certain brands in the enterprise.
>>62442149
Wasn't Turbo Tax claiming "NOW POWERED BY WATSON"
>most "advanced" private "super computer" in the world doing simple addition and subtraction
>>62442199
H&R Block said they were using watson to answer questions from customers and apply analytics to find weird deductibles to get bigger refunds. The whole thing sounds like a huge marketing thing to get people to show up to get taxes down in person rather than buy software or free file.
>>62441135
>>62440968
They stopped bothering with small game and went supercomputers abandoning customer and consumer levels as unnecessary
>>62440968
They are the third largest ech company. They're working in background far away from public view
