I bought a 240hz monitor.
Did I fuck up, /g/?

yes
>>62372212
Does it have any adaptive sync technology?
Do you have a GPU powerful enough to even go above 144fps?
What games do you play?
>>62372212
>>62372258
Oh, and before the insults of 'manchild' come out, there's only one use for monitors over 120hz, and that's gaming.
Sure, you could argue it makes things nicer with a higher refresh, but 120 does the job for that. 144+ is gaming territory.

What's with the horse blinders?
>>62372258
>Does it have any adaptive sync technology?
No, doesn't seem like there's a point with that refresh rate. I did get the one with the blur reducing technology.
>Do you have a GPU powerful enough to even go above 144fps?
I get more or less stable 240fps+ at 1440p in my main game.
I also do own a 1440p IPS monitor with decent color reproduction for non-gaming stuff.
>>62372283
I secretly like them because they remind me of the professional grade displays I used to salivate over when I was more into graphic design and shit.
>>62372407
Screen tearing is still possible even at high refresh rates.
>>62372436
It's 100% possible and will happen, but ultra high refresh screen tearing is barely noticeable.
It's besides the point though, because somebody buying a 240hz monitor would probably despise any kind if syncing since it introduces input lag. I sure hope OP is a CS:GO pro, because thats the only reason you'd want to invest in gimmick shit like this.
what are those stupid fins for?
>>62372607
Blocking light to keep the colours accurate.
>>62372722
so like i thought fucking stupid and gimmicky
>>62372764
yeah, they're removable though so it's no big deal
>>62372764
they're useful for hyper-accurate professionally calibrated monitors used for video editing, graphic design and photography
a 240hz TN panel isn't going to have even close to good enough colour reproduction to need them so in this case they are a bit gimmicky.
>>62372212
It has wings!
>>62372875
I think they're meant more for like LANs and shit, the monitor even has a handle on the back.
>>62372273
Considering that 144hz+ monitors are way cheaper due to them being way more commonly manufactured any more due to VESA adaptive syncing, there is far more reason to get 144hz then a 120hz monitor ya dummy.

yes

You're the only one that got it right.
