Never tried out games on my Fedora but how bad is it for Source based or Lightweight games?

>>62370431
Performance wise it used to be worse but now it's really smooth.
>>
>>62370431
If the game supports linux you're fine. And most new games do support linux, usually not at launch though.
Also >>>/v/
Also kys
Also sage
>>
You can't play games JUST on the kernel Linux. Don't you mean GNU/Linux?
>>
>>62371194
This
>>
>>62370431
It's okay
>>
>>62370431
Just look at steam... Steam is the best source for Linux games.
>>
>>62371217
Thank you for setting the record straight, mr. Stallman.
>>
>>62370431
Wine, particularly, Wine Staging on Ubuntu, works pretty great.
>>
>>62371194
>most new games do support linux

trash games and """"early access"""" titles running on unity, sure. you can browse by OS on steam and the general quality level for linux titles is the sort of thing you'd find on a windows 95 cd.
>>
>>62371217
No. Such little processor time is spent executing GNU code that I call it Games/Linux or Games+Linux.
>>
>>62370718
What's your favorite form of entertainment?

film

Grow the fuck up, kiddo. Real men go to the theater.

No, BSD utils/X system/Linux.

If you're just doing light gaming, then you should be good. Half my library is available on Linux, and I can ethernet to my Windows desktop and Steam stream the rest.
>>
I played CSGO on my integrated GPU under Linux. But usually I play games in a VM with my GPU.

>says film in an attempt to make it sound more mature and cultured than "movies"
>>
Once VMware supports DirectX 11, there's literally no reason to run Windows on bare metal.

no thanks

>>
>>62372035
Is this going to happen?
>>
>>62370431
Not bad?
>>
>>62372067
It already supports up to 10, so naturally 11 would be the next step. Even 10.1 would make it run a lot more games.
>>
>>62370431
It's great if your GPU is supported. Best thing to go with is an AMD GPU with the official AMDGPU Pro drivers.
>>
>>62372481
>AMDGPU Pro drivers
Never heard anyone recommending the PRO drivers here.
>>
>>62372887
What's wrong with them?
>>
>>62373095
Theyre closed source and slower than the free ones as of recently.

Maybe not all games, but more than enough games.
>>
>>62372008
But film encompasses more than just movies
>>
>>62370431
not bad at all. See pic.
No, not yet enough for the hardcore gamer, but for most intermediate game enthusiasts it works fine.
THats just steam, you can get most games to run in wine too. Most are just cripled console ports so their specs are not too demanding.
>>
>>62370431
I hope Linux continues to not support your baby soft carrot shit games for manchildren.
>>
loonix is bad enough with software like gimp, games are non existant

Steam runs also on Arch, it is not officially supported though.
