Do you retards buy a new case every year or something?

My case is the one thing that hasn't changed in over 15 years.
>>
>>62356324
It's hanging by the screws.

Not sure what the strap is for.
>>
>>62356342
I'm about to buy my third case in three years. My needs changed, so I went from mITX to mATX and now to ATX.
>>
>>62356363
The strap is there in case the screws fail. If the PSU falls it will take the CPU out with it.

This. Dancase A4 was too small to keep cool/quite while overclocking, and the super small cases like the S4 mini and Sentry won't let me use full size components.

Fairly sure they are similar price or cheaper.
>>

lol you're so poor you can't even afford a desk that's wide enough for a real keyboard
>>
>>62357582
I have 7 desks.
Through I only use 5 as a desks, the other two I use as tables.
I do have mechanical keyboards for all 5 desks, 3 ten key less and 2 regular.

I much prefer the ten key less.
I like to keep my mouse close to where I type.

Case I have : Corsair Air 240.
Case I'd use for the next 10 years: Corsair Air 540.

While I love the size and footprint of the 240, its biggest and obvious downside is the room in it. I currently have a Corsair H100iv2 in here on a pull config through the case, exhaust out the top/back because I don't have the room on the top of the case to place the radiator without interfering with the motherboard. Also, forget getting a video card that doesnt fit within the area footprint of the I/O panel - the shit won't fit. I ended up buying a 1080Ti SC2 instead of the FTW3 because there is only so much overhead from the motherboard.

Don't get me wrong - I really like this little case, and its size makes it super easy to transport, BUT going back, I'd probably just stick with the 540.

>>
>>62358267
I fucked up too. It's not a bad case by any means like you said, but it's not great either. Airflow is good but the overall design is really wasteful just to compartmentalize the PSU. A wiser designer would've kept the tooling and designed around an SFX power supply narrowing the PSU side and slightly expanding the CPU side to accommodate larger coolers on both the CPU and the GPU.

I don't know why you'd put an AIO on a case designed for air though, are you smoking meth?

My Zalman M1.
I've already put one HDD and one SSD into the 5.25 slot, I removed the HDD cage to put an EK SPC-60 reservoir/pump inside, and removed the tray at the top of the HDD cage so I can put a 50mm thick dual rad inside.

Should last for as long as there will be an mITX form factor.

This thing is made for forever. For me it would be too big, the normal 750D is already huge.
>>62362089
Using this one for my HTPC. Its nice, but still too big and it doesn't fit in my TV rack, so I'm going to downgrade to a Jonsbo C3.

I like this case. I could fit a second GPU in if necessary. But I think I'll never get one. SLI problems still seem huge and I don't know if my PSU handled that. LED RAM first.

use one myself. During the summer have to take the front/top panels off because it runs a little hot.
>>
All these cases with support for drive bays.

Get with the times. Onboard nvme for the short term, optane and similar tech (once capacity and speed improve) will replace both RAM and storage.

Don't tell me you still use optical drive bays.

Losers.
>>
>>62374768
I do. Only when I want to install old games, like Crysis or Age Of Empires.

Also yes, I'm a loser, because I run 2 MBit internet on a PC with a 1080 Ti. A modern game needs 3 complete DAYS for downloading and I really wish games would be released on BluRay. This format is 2017 appropiate, delivering 50 GB of capacity. I wonder why no one uses BluRay, unlike the console faction.

I hope boards will have multiple NVMe slots in the future. I have one of these drives, it is amazingly fast, but useless because my normal SATA SSD only reads and writes 500 MB/s. My NAS HDDs only do 130 MB/s (Gigabit capped).

So I would need affordable 10 TB+ SSDs and faster Ethernet to get rid of HDDs. Unfortunately even 2 TB still cost 500 € and have no benefits for mass storage (videos).

But anon, FFXV requires 170 GB.
>>
>>62355604
ive almost done that, I bought a CM690II in 2010 and I still use it for my main PC even though it's seen 3 entirely different builds.
>>
>>62375041
I don't care about FFXV. Its not even released yet.

Every other AAA title can be compressed to 50 GB. I guess they aren't even compressed anymore, it will be playable directly after downloading. Like MEA, BF1, Star Wars Battlefront, they all have around 50 GB. I only talk about modern AAA titles.
>TFW you get annoyed by every Origin and BF1 update because you can't play for hours as it loads with the usual 280 KB/s

>>
>>62374556
Because unlike my R5, the 900D isn't soundproofed, and it's a very open (lots of holes) case where the R5 is a very closed case.

mATX cases can't fit multiple GPUs, which I didn't think I'd use.

Had my antec 900 for over 7 years.
Modified it by cutting some metal for better cable management and put rubber around the holes. Had problems with shorts in the past. Also replaced all the fans. The big one on the top was a pain to get.
>>
It wouldn't be much of an imposition, considering I've already used the same case for roughly 5 years. If I were doing a new build, I'd probably be using a Phanteks Enthoo Primo, so I'd probably go with that.

I've used this case for 7 years or so, my only gripe with it is that GPUs are limited to 28cm, and no support for 240/280mm rads, and I could use a bit more hdd space.

I hate the new cases with no hdd space support. Was considering the Corsair 750D but not enough hdd bays and the case is a lot larger than it needs to be, and the 900D is just too fucking large and expensive.

I think I'll go with the MasterCase 5 Pro with optional drive cages.

Love how I can just replace the IO ports on the lianli as they sell service kits, but they just don't have a case that ticks off every requirement I'd have for a new case.

I used to hate my case which was a bit like in your picture. There was so much useless space making it bigger for no reason. I switched to Thermaltake Core V21 mATX case which feels much better. It has space but it doesn't look like it would have tons of useless space. There's room for giant GPU and dual fan watercooling for CPU and a big PSU and no ventilation problems since the sides are mesh. No hot air can get stuck in there forever. This is probably the case I'm going to be using from now on. It's not like future computers are going to get bigger and there's plenty of room for components as it is.
>>
>>62379407
Yea, I built ATX configs out of habit, then I realized I have no fucking reason to do that, because the last card I've ever put in my PC that wasn't a graphics card was an ISA soundblaster. So I've gone mITX and didn't regret it.
>>
What's the smallest case that can take a full size GPU, full ATX motherboard, 6hdds 1SSD 1ODD, and 120/240mm rad?

Fucking AM4 platform doesn't have a m-atx motherboard with 8 sata ports and makes you buy xbox hueg x370 chipset motherboards for 8 sata, don't need sli but fucking b350 boards only have 4 sata native with 2 more on some boards via 3rd party chip.

Asus PRIME B350M-A has 6 SATA ports and one M.2 port. Why do you have so many HDDs? Couldn't you have an external network drive for things that are stored and not in active use? You could then build your PC as you liked.
>>
>>62379497
I'd like 8 ports, not 6, and the Prime B350M-A will disable sata ports when you pop in NVME drives, so you really only have 4 sata on the Asus board when you use NVME.

The AX370 Gigabyte Gaming K5 will have NVME, and all 8 sata ports enabled, at the same time.

I already have 8Bay external enclosures, I just have too many 1TB~4TB drives, when I should have bit the bullet and went with 8TB drives. I just retired all the sub 1TB drives this year.
