>install gentoo
>91 mb to run bash
/g/ you lied to me
gentoo is bloated
That's what happens when you just blindly follow a guide to install Gentoo instead of actually knowing what you are doing.
>he fell for the meme
do you not know what htop is?
Run it, and it will show you what exactly is using the memory. You will see what other shit you installed and autostarted.

post your make.conf.
You just don't get it do you? You're NOT supposed to follow the guide completely blindly. You want what /g/ promised you? Look into using musl, busybox instead of openrc/systemd, not using a system logger, actually compiling your own kernel with what you need, not using an entire DE and also avoiding Lennartware like the fucking plague. And that's only the start.

>all this autism and time wasted to produce a system that's only marginally more efficient than most "minimal out of the box" installs

Well most people do it as a hobby and or for work so it's not really autism. If you work in any field where you develop distros for a specific purpose you'd see this is not autism. Want an example? Once working for a company that made games for casino we had to make the distro that was gonna run on the machines as safe and small as possible. Why? Because we had to make sure the customers wouldn't be able to run our software without authorization and or our special keys so we were able to make them pay the monthly fees. If we didn't try to make the distro as secure and simple as possible those fuckers at the casinos would just hire some fuckers to try and make our games work without paying us.

>or for work
ayy
lol rekt
even debian's starting usage is only 56mb
>>62349565
You have 4GB of ram who fucking cares
20-30MB of ram on an operating system is fucking *nothing* you autismal fucks
Elaborate on what eats the RAM. Because my system takes 70MB with running X, wm and terminal. Is bash that bloated?
