I'm smart enough to install extra drives in desktop PC and set up pirating, streaming and backup. I do not need a special device for that.

Its my server for any shit I want to put up, usually just H@H and torrents running through my VPN, but sometimes I throw other things on there I want to run. Its nice to have the VPN downloads running on a seprate system so you can do shit with your main desktop. Other than that its storage for all kinds of shit, mostly JAVs, anime, and movies.

The synology 1812 is a great NAS, havent had any issues with it, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a rock solid experience.

I need it there as a htpc anyway but it's used as a torrent box with trackers, dlna server to access content on shitty, early smart TV downstairs, it's general file storage for stuff I don't want on my SSD through samba and I watch episodes on my phone so I don't have to pause it while I make dinner.

How can you not have a NAS and call yourself a memer of /g/
