because I'm not in the apple ecosystem and Spotify has audio ads in the free version. When I started, I was just uploading all my tracks from what.cd to Google Music so I could stream them anywhere for free without ads. Then I got a job and some money and made a family plan with some friends from school so it's like $3/month.

Email hosting using my personal domain name because fuuuuck keeping my own email server online and secure and having to accumulate Gmail karma for a year in order to get my emails delivered to Gmail user inboxes, not spam folders. Of course I looked at protonmail, et. al., but in the end I think email is fundamentally flawed in terms of security anyway and imo Google's Inbox mail ui (not Gmail) is the best in the business. $5/month.
