Used thinkpad cpu vs a kaby lake cpu.
Why are the performance still extremely relative?
Raven Ridge will hopefully change that

Because battery life is more important than performance

Waitâ„¢ for Raven Ridge.

I've been holding off buying a new laptop specifically for Raven Ridge APU's. Really hoping their performance is good. Would love to see a non cut down version of their A10/A12 APU inside of a laptop with proper heat dissipation. Pair that with the much higher bandwidth of DDR4 memory, I can see Raven Ridge being great

Zeppelin wastes a lot of power for unnecessary (for consumer) uncore.
Hope they'll trim it all down from APU die.

Yes, but the rajeets need to make Vega finally work first.
Anyway, ChinkPad A275/A475 are Q4 2018.

>muh thin laptops
Literally all there is too it. For a slim form factor you need a small heatsink and small batteries, the only way to do this is to go as low power consumption as you can.

Hopefully they make a full fledged thinkpad with Raven Ridge in it though. Not their garbage L series with 768p screens and less than half of the modular capabilities of a T series. Literally all I'm waiting on is
>Non cut down APU
>Proper cooling so no throttling necessary
>1080p IPS screen
>Decent keyboard

A275/A475 are literally T270/T470 with AMD APU.
