Yes, I managed to get one of my friends to stay on it. It works, has everything I need.
Too bad the ONLY good XMPP client is Android-only. I'd like to use it with my desktop, and also it would be nice to have an iPhone version for normalfags who can't into tech.

yes, because it handles multiple devices (albeit badly), has end-to-end crypto (albeit horribly implemented), and is federated

once an alternative comes along that isn't matrix, i'll switch over
