Has anyone fallen for the miniPC/steambox meme? They usually have low specs and shitty parts, but I like the idea of having a PC 1/20th the size of a regular tower

Why not just run a really long HDMI cable from your main pc to your living room tv?
I want to shove intel NUC internals into a keyboard for an MSX-like experience

That's what I do. Beats streaming.
me and some dudes recently bought a steam link just for fun.
Has a decently little Armv7 in it with neon and all and an official sdk which makes for some comfy arm programming thats cheaper than a raspberry pi

I have two of them for my kids. Nice not having to buy multiple consoles every time there is a minor hardware refresh. Nice having their games last and last. Nice sharing my Steam library with them.

I bought that exact model for $250 a few weeks ago and installed windows 7. I kinda like it.
I have a shitty z8300 powered box sitting under my tv. It's cheap, silent and capable of downloading a torrent and playing H.264 video so it does what I need it to do

My friend had one of those Alienware boxes for a while, and I was pretty impressed with its performance for the price. He ended up selling it off though, he got it specifically for a racing sim setup and ended up getting rid of the whole rig when he moved.
